"He's very expensive"
"And Worth every peny"
"I didn't say that"

uteotw 11-08-05 09:21 AM

"Who's Ann?"

One of the best comedies ever and it makes no sense that people aren't watching. What a travesty...

Geofferson 11-08-05 09:41 AM

"Annabell because she's shaped like a ..."

Definitely need to rewatch these. Too many great lines to rememeber.

das Monkey 11-08-05 09:42 AM

"... the bell of the ball!"

Another great moment -- Michael waking up to find his handlebars in his bed. Which is extra funny if you know that the shows creators have consciously patterned the show after the Godfather movies in a number of respects.

Big Boy Laroux 11-08-05 10:20 AM

man, what can you say... it was downright hilarious.

as for theron and her intellect, i didn't like the reveal. it's been speculated on here for a while, starting with her uncle telling michael "how would you like it if i came after someone stupid in your family?" Michael took it as a threat against buster, but it was actually a "don't take advantage of my slow niece."

everything about this episode was great. loved the mole/jet pack thing. and when they were taking off the helmets. Michael sees Tobias - "ok, no big surprise"

BabiG 11-08-05 10:54 AM

I thought the concept of a Church and State Fair was hilarious.

I liked the choice between the popemobile and the humvee too. "He went with the one that was bulletproof". They've certainly gotten more political jokes in there the last two seasons.

JuryDuty 11-08-05 11:25 AM

This show is SO STINKING FUNNY!

I don't know why people don't watch it. The overnights were devastating again. Oh well. Maybe the stellar DVD sales will save it for another season...

Cusm 11-08-05 11:25 AM

I was MR M for a bit at the end scene with George Sr's comment about Good thing not taking the Hummer, til I realized it was his great dry sarcasm.

Could you elaborate a bit more, please?

Bill Needle 11-08-05 12:09 PM

Damn this show was funny. My kids started to love watching it now, and even with them missing half the humor they still think it's a great show. America, you are missing out on something wonderful.

Wow, I didn't even think about the parallels between the two. There's the transfer of power (the Bluth company) from the father to son. George=Don Vito, Michael=Michael, Fredo=GOB...

"Wife Swap" (and football for West Coast viewers) posted a 9.0/14 at 8 p.m. to put ABC in the lead. "The King of Queens," 7.2/11, and "How I Met Your Mother," 6.9/10, finished second for CBS. "Surface" was third for NBC. The WB took fourth for the hour with "7th Heaven," 3.5/5, topped an hour of "Arrested Development," 2.7/4, on FOX. UPN trailed with "One on One" and "All of Us."

Fifth place! :( That doesn't look too good.

It's the story of a son (named Michael!) reluctantly taking over the family business even though he tried to stay out of it. Like rabbit said, the parallels between the Michael/GOB relationship and the Michael/Fredo relationship are strong -- I think they even used pieces of Fredo's "I'm the oldest, I should be in charge!" speech from GFII when GOB was arguing he should be in charge.

riley_dude 11-08-05 12:58 PM

Only had time to watch the first of the two episodes but boy was this unfunny. Could they have given Charlize Threon worse material to work with?

seems like a bit of stretch to say they intentional parallel GF.. I agree with using some lines, but that's about it

Also agree that Charlize Theorn has been a waste in the past 3 or 4 episodes... The English stuff is funny, but the retard stuff just doesn't do it for me.. It is the first sub plot in AD that has not hit a home run with me

Just wanted to point it out, the Blendin joke has been used a few times before. The first one I can recall is the "lighting fixture" company from the first season (but it's still the CIA). And there's another one in the second season when Tobias was trailing Lindsay and was clinging to the side of a blue moving van that said Blendin Moving Compay.

Anyway, I loved both episodes. Can't wait to watch them again tonight. The GM vs. The Mole shit killed me!!!

I agree. Obviously they throw some references in there, but I doubt that it is even a minor plot arc device.

Agree with this as well. I liked the Little Britain stuff (such as changing the side of the street you drive on for two blocks), but she has been poorly utilized in my opinion, and so has Dave Thomas. I really haven't cared for her character much at all, though her involvement has led to some funny Bluth family interactions. And the mental defective "twist" fell very flat for me.

j123vt_99 11-08-05 02:04 PM

not to be a spoiler, but is next week the last episode with Charlize?

movieking 11-08-05 02:36 PM

I hope so. I really hate this whole plot and can't wait for it to be over with.

Just as long as it isn't bleeped on the DVD. Of course then having Ron Howard talk about it's a shame they had to bleep that won't be appropriate, but I guess they could delete that line.

I think Neilsen should give all DVDtalk.com members a ratings box.
