Pretty terrible episode. While the Dukes homage was amusing, the character/plotline with Tom Wopat was really bad. I actually kinda dug the Chloe/Lois undercover reporting side of it. It's just that the coincidence factor was way too high here. Chloe just happens to field a call from this girl in peril, who just happens to have a connection to the longtome Kent family friend who just happens to be visiting at that time (and who just happens to be running against Lex).

It could have just as easily been written to take either of the two paths, and still they could've gotten everyone involved. But instead it felt like the whole thing was engineered to be written around the scene where Clark happens upon Lois as a stripper.

And about that... as good as Lois looked there, the whole thing was pretty hokey. Lex comments about the place being underground because of the things that go on there, but all it offers was tame PG-rated fully clothed dancers. I realize it is a network show, but there are creative ways to insinuate nudity. They've done it many times before.

From EW...

Get ready for 'Aquaman.' No, really.

Call Vinny Chase. There may actually be an Aquaman project floating around Hollywood. Despite the jokey Entourage plotline, the producers of Smallville may be serious about spinning off a series based on Superman's waterlogged pal, thanks to the modest ratings success of an episode last month that introduced the character (played by Alan Ritchson, left, with Erica Durance as Lois Lane) to the WB drama. The New York Post notes that DC Comics has told Cartoon Network's Justice League Unlimited not to include the scaly hero in future plotlines, which suggests that he's being saved for use elsewhere.

Would you watch an Aquaman series on The WB? Still dreaming of an Aquaman feature, a la Entourage? Or does the idea of an Aquaman-centered project seem fishy to you?

Only if: If it's a movie and most of it is set under the sea. I want GIANT manta battles between undersea armies and the like. Hell, have Atlantis vs the world with Aquaman in the middle. They could even work in all the natural disasters recently as things caused by Atlantis rising to take over or something. ie DON'T make it about some surfer dude that comes to live in Florida and has the power to talk to seahorses.

No one would ever watch that.

In the Entourage threads people have been wanting to see the Aquaman movie. I don't. -ohbfrank-

Alan Ritchson is a terrible actor. He could barely pull off a one-note guest spot, so I definitely can't see him pulling off a series where he's the emotional core. Besides, there's just not really enough aquatic-based storylines to work a series around, and even less when constricted by a tv budget. Imagine how tedious the "Fish of the Week" episodes would be!

An Aquaman film, on the other hand, would be much more feasible, as they could construct a grand underwater adventure out of it. Of course, they would obviously have to recast the lead.

The WB needs to be pushing for a Spike/Illyria series (or a Faith series). :)

Forget about an Aquaman series.

I'n so there. Never cared for just a Spike movie but if you have these others with him I would watch it. I for one dont think the wB are going to admit they were wrong in the first place for cancelling Angel though.
