I'm surprised no one here is talking about the Saayid/Jack dialogue underground. Is it me or did Saayid say that the underground and concrete reminded him of "Chernobyl"? Nuclear reactor? or implying that a meltdown has already occured? Could it have something to do with pressing the button? :hscratch: (For some reason, this conjures up the image of Homer Simpson and pressing his button at his nuclear reactor job)

At least we got a gratuitous shot of a wet, naked Kate wrapped in a towel. Overall a decent episode. I am curious about the part of the facility that is cemented off as Sayid commented on. I guess I am in the minority, I don't like Hurley's character or his back story, all of it is uninteresting and boring. Who was the girl working at the CD store? She looks familiar, was/is she on another TV show? Anyways she is bangin' Sun too, -other- Good spot from the above poster about the milk carton. Why does Michelle Rodriguez always have to play the badass chick in everything? Its very tired. After all this time too, Jin is still wearing the handcuff on his wrist, will this come into play later on? Maybe he will get sucked into the big magnet thing and get super powers. Animal |
The video said there were 7 sites right? At first I thought it might mean 7 sites worldwide, but now we've seen 3 different site logos, site #3, the swan AKA the main hatch, the one on the shark which was a bar in the middle of the dharma logo (maybe an underwater hatch the cable connects to?), and the back of the plane's cruddy looking shelter which has a cross in it.
Spoiler:
..speaking of which, now with that weapons locker in the hatch, they have enough guns to start a small war. They've resolved the what-to-do-with-the-food issue in this ep, wonder what they'll do with all the guns... and who gets to take showers and sleep in the comfy bed etc |

Oh my Gawd! Jin spoke English!!!!1!
I enjoyed this episode as a nice change of pace. It definetely had more humor than most episodes. Was it my imagination or did Sawyer look suprised/disgusted when it was revealed that Rose's husband is white? Being from the south, maybe he has a problem with that. I thought there should've been a bit more follow-up to Sun's reaction to the bottle and the obvious assumption that she thinks Jin is dead. Maybe these are things that will be covered next week (or hinted at on bigspaceship1.com) |
I doubt that the dead tail sectioners were killed by the remaining ones... militaristic is one thing, but total "let's kill piggy" Lord-of-the-flies mentality after little more than a month is rediculous. My guess is that the "others" (Ethan's, the pirates, whoever) were attacking them and moving through their territory... it would explain a lot, especially why the tail survivors are indeed so militaristic after such a short time. If they haven't been attacked, such a mentality is a bit silly. I know that if I crashed on a deserted island with 20 other people, my first thought would most definitely not be "Let's build a caged pit for prisoners."

Image too large to post in thread.....
The milk carton did have Walt on it. http://lost.cubit.net/pics/waltMissing.jpg |
I liked this episode; I really enjoyed the little picnic on the beach at the end, it was a nice change of pace from the more recent tension-filled episodes. Was the chicken suit guy in the vision a mixture of the 7-11 guy and some chicken thing from Hurley's job?
I thought the survivors from the front of the plane believed the tail section broke off and fell into the ocean somewhere, because they landed head first into the beach of the island. Which, to me, means that the other, smaller group is on a completely different island. I think we will probably find out right away next week what happened to the rest of the second group of survivors. That isn't something that you could just skip over and have no one bring up again...though the writers have done a good job of stretching important bits of information out over several episodes. |
I've loved every episode of this show so far, and this one was no different. I think the people that didn't like it expect too much to be revealed in each episode. Just a theory.

Very interesting finds with images to show.

My thoughts on some of your thoughts:
MichRod and company are on a completely different island. Who knows where the tide took our boys on that raft. When you're lost at sea land looks like land so Jin, and Sawyer and Michael could've easily thought they were home when in fact they weren't. This explains the survivors not running into each other. I think the other Hatch/Site/Compound/StudyCenterThingy is not connected to the Swan. I think it is the psychology (or utopian society site, but I'm leaning toward psych.) and that the "Others" are either subjects gone bad, or somehow in charge of that experiment. It seems as if MichRod, Adebisi and co. might be slipping themselves. Sayid may be right about the "Chernobyl" thing. Maybe that's what made all Danielle's people "sick". I also think MC Gainey and the chick from the boat are the Kroots or whatever their names were from the film. I don't think they were played by the same actors though, and needn't be as the film was made some time before we saw them on the boat. |
Anyone else think that the 2nd group may have eaten the others? I said to my wife - crap, now they have to deal with cannibals. I doubt that is the case.
And the black/white connection continues with Rose/Bernard. |
Although the episode wasnt the best of the season it kept my attention the entire time. Thought it was interesting that 23 made it from the crash on the other side, but there are only 5 left. Dont know if the others killed them off possibly?
as for next weeks episode: Spoiler:

no one has mentioned what sayed said about all the concrete that was poured. I found that to be quite interesting. Wonder what if anything that will have to do on future episodes, or just the island in general.

Our guys are better armed, the Others don't know that. If Michael gets back and reports they kidnapped Walt, they may try to draw the Others into a trap. In any case, they should be ready for them. |

Nice ep, even if it might not appease the "answer all questions now" crowd. I, for one, like the backstories because they not only tend to flesh a character, but there's usually little clues to nibble on in there as well.
My wife got a little misty-eyed when Rose pocketed her Apollo bar for Bernard. |
