I hate to vote against Sports Night, but there just wasn't enough in das' line-up to back it up.
What're you, nuts? Are you just some nutty nut-guy who's nuts?!?

IMO das has 5 shows that are arguably better than anything JJ has.

2. B.A. - Tough choice. In the end, Scrubs is better than anything on ryu's list, so B.A. gets the nod here.
QUOTE]

With all due respect, I cannot fathom how anyone would think Scrubs is better than Amazing Stories (or Seinfeld, for that matter). But to each their own.

1. Jimmy James
Very close pick for me. Jimmy has a nice overall lineup with some good picks and no duds. Das starts the week very very strong, but the last three picks do nothing for me. I could enjoy Wonder Years and A-Team from a nostalgia perspective, but I don't think I would tune in every week.

2. ryuryu2949
ryuryu's schedule is a little heavy on comedy, but they are solid choices, Amazing Stories is a real gem. Unfortunately for BA I've probably seen about 5 episodes total from all of his picks.

3. Cleaver
This was also close. Neither schedule blew me away, but Cleaver got my neilson point on 4 nights.

4. Mitsurugi
Very good lineup Mitsurugi, nice picks.

5. jfrost
They are all Season 1, but they are also (mostly) great shows. Cop Rock, WTF? A little HBO heavy, but I can't hold that against him, at least not in the first round. Lokimok’s is no slouch though, just not enough to get the nod.

6. Mhepburn20
MST3k, MSCL, Lost, Farscape, with this schedule I could throw my remote out. scott27 has some nice picks, but it's too sitcom heavy.

7. Tanman
Not to excited about either schedule, but I am a Star Trek fan so Tanman gets the nod.

8. Sweet Baby James
Another ..eh.. match up. James takes the lead with X-Files and South Park. apeyard's schedule looks strong, but personally I'm not into several of his heavy hitters.

EDIT: I made my picks before reading the thread, so any appeals for votes did not influence the final vote. I did go back and edit my comments a little to address some issues.

So I gotta ask this...
I've noticed that many people have knocked jfrost for being too HBO heavy, and I wonder what that means? I mean he has three HBO shows, but B.A. has three NBC shows and no one's mentioned his line-up as being NBC heavy. Mitsurugi has three Fox shows, and no one said his line-up was Fox heavy.

Apeyard specifically knocked him for having too much HBO, and his line-up has two HBO shows and three NBC shows. What's with the scarlet letter on HBO shows? I thought we were evaluating quality of the shows, not the network they air on.

NBC and Fox have several dozen, if not hundreds of shows to choose from, where HBO only has a handful. Also, Dead Like Me is a very HBO-like show, even though it aired on Showtime. Also, it's inicative of the lack of variaty in the schedule. All the shows are Season One. They are all one hour dramas, at least in part.

I'm not saying it's a bad schedule. It got my vote, but I can see how it could turn others off. Just like how I voted against Scott27 because it was too heavy on half-hour comedies, even though the individual picks were strong.

So Here are my picks

dasMonkey - for the ATeam and his description. BA is afraid of flying, Murdock escapes from the hospital..yada yada yada. You got everything necessary to an episode of the A Team except for the vehicle overturns due to a conveniently placed bush or box or something.

BA - Solely for Scrubs, House as a bonus

Damfino - Because I can't pick much over Star Trek, especially Next Gen. Lost did play into it but I can't really put that much into a three episode season (thus far).

mdc3000 - Scrubs (despite what I just said about ST, dropped Ent before season 4)

lokimok - Batman TAS single greatest animated series and very high up my list of TV shows in general

Mhepburn20 - Lost

Tanman - me

Sweet Baby James - actually last minute changed. Just remembered how hilarious the LotR South Park episode was.

As for my selection strategy, honestly I was really just playing for fun. Everyone seems to be taking it so seriously but I decided to put some of my personal favorite shows (that no one else took) on the line instead of just picking what I thought would win.

Is it a lot of Trek? Yes. It it a lot of good TV? Hell yes.

Besides the Trek it is hard to deny the first season that sparked a whole new crime drama style and spun off into two more shows.

I also think I included the best game show ever. And one of the best animated series ever.

So although my choices might not have been diverse enough I still love my lineup.

Almost all of these matchups were tough but I've made my picks:

1. Das Monkey - Three of my initial first choices were taken by Das.

2. B.A. - Ed, scrubs and House make this an easy choice.

3. Cleaver - I really enjoy the variety in these choices and was happy to see Transformers and Battlestar in the same collection.

4. MDC3000 - Alias Season 2 is one of my favorite seasons of action television and Arrested Development season 2 was hilarious.

5. JFrost - Cop Rock! Carnivale! Six Feet Under. Good choices.

6. Mhepburn20 - I really do believe my collection is better even if just from a variety stand point.

7. Tanman - a little too trek heavy but it's all good trek.

8. Apeyard - West Wing Season 2 was also an intial first choice pick of mine. Some good selections.

All you people voting for Scrubs over Amazing Stories are seriously out of your minds.

Please be patient. Red Dog screwed up the voting, something I didn't realize until the second recount. His votes have been thrown out.

I'm trying to figure out two very close contests:

jfrost vs. Lokimok

and

scott27 vs. Mhepburn20

No problem, Groucho. I don't envy you having to count all those votes.

Thanks for sticking to your guns and not choosing a winner in 5, Red Dog.

Good match, Mhepburn20. Tough break.

Congrats BA, good luck. But Scrubs still can't hold ANY of my shows' jockstraps.
