Ugh...after a promsing season premiere, we're back to "freak of the week" episodes. And what's up with "The Wonder Twins"?! :(
...Not enjoyin' this at all.....
Jonathan Kent takes a beating on this show! That's two episodes, two super-villians hurling him across a room!
Lem!
Good god, give Clark his powers back for I don't have to see Chloe the Hacker and Clark, the tunnel crawler.
Christ the ending to this episode was worth any amount of tunnel crawling
I agree, this episode was lame and I'm afraid it's going to be this way for the next few episodes before they go back to the storyline that we saw in the beginning of this season. Gawd oh why do they do this?
No more Lana please. Someone just kill her now. Only thing good about this episode were the wonderful shots of Chloe. :) I want to squeeze them. However, she really needs to work on her arms. She's got big arms!! Kinda thick and chunky looking. :( |
1: God that sucked.
2: Chloe...Jesus...Yummmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy 3: Only highlight of episode was when Lex saw Clark bleed. It was like everything he ever believed had just been disproven. He looked more vunerable than ever. 4: Next week looks like another clunker. |
I don't understand the hate, this was a great episode. They are finally on the right track.
The Lex/Clark scene at the end almost made this one worth sitting through...almost!
Well, we got Smallville meets Alias, and then Smallville meets the Shield, and then we got Smallville meets Smackdown, and the we got a hookup devoured by the Cold Play song. Eh, it could have been worse.

Yeah, Chloe was displaying her pups to her advantage tonight.
They was...amazing.
Damn, missed it. Thought I had it TiVo'd. Do they replay these episodes?
sigh.
and here I thought they were going to break the pattern.. there was one good thing about tonight [and she had two of 'em].. |
I missed this along with Alias (I got home too late). Woulda loved to see Chloe (she and Lois are the such great eye candy). :(
I thought it was OK. My main disappointment was that I thought we'd get to see Brainiac, but instead we got a trio of apparently retread villians from an episode I either never saw or completely forgot about. And it does truly amaze me what a beating Pa Kent takes with his weak ticker. That man should be dead by now.
As always, the strength of the episode was when Clark and Lex were on screen together, even if it was for a couple minutes. Spoiler:
My guess is somehow Jor-El does. That's just a guess tho'.
I really hope they move away from the FoTW this season, but so far it looks like they are goin' to do the normal. Strong opening, bad middle, great ending. |
Good to see Clark finally confront Lex. The look on Rosenbaum's face was great when he saw Clark's bloody lip. Now they can get on w/ the good-guy/bad-guy relationship already.
The villains were lame, but I thought that was kind of the point. I mean, these are guys Clark would've wiped the floor with before, and now he's barely getting by. I'm just glad we actually got some real (fingers crossed they don't erase everyone's minds or something) story advancement in two major areas: Clark & Lana finally doing the deed (although I call bullshit that Lana was still a virgin... you KNOW Jason hit that) and animosity between Lex and Clark.
It's just nice that everything from the season premiere wasn't undone by the end of the second episode like most seasons. |
Perhaps the writers intended for this episode to be the one that cements Clark as being a non-powered person in Lex's mind, once and for all, thus making Superman's appearance later in the future to push suspicion off of Clark. Also, the gap in their former friendship widens from this point on.
If the whole purpose of that episode was indeed for the Clark / Lex situation, then I can overlook it, but if we see more of this, I can't help but roll my eyes and sigh in dissapointment.
