As a huge AD fan im stoked to see any positive news regarding the show.
Id call 2 new episodes very positive. I see your point Groucho, about them dumping the episodes to finish things. Frankly no matter how much us uberfans LOVE the show, its numbers have just not been good and i dont see Fox keeping anything that they dont perceive as making them alot of money on the air. If and when they decide to pull the AD plug, i will be bummed as bummed can be, buuuut will be thankful that we even got a S3
(partial or full - time will tell) as this show might have ended w S2.
I cant believe more people dont love this show - the layered humor, the amazing references to other parts of the show, the background stuff, theres sooooo much. I suppose most TV viewers want stupid predictable simple setup sitcoms. Sad.
Well im off to see my analysist/thereapist.

yeah, I think the two-fer is just to make up for all the baseball and doesn't necessarially mean they're rushing it to it's end......although with Fox you never know. hopefully the dvd sales will send them a message to keep it alive (as well as bring some new viewers in)

Hey, if the president of the network is behind the show, that can't be a bad thing. I think if they are going to pull the plug, I think, based on his comments about the show, he would allow them to do some kind of send off.

Breaking News -- AD will be back after playoffs.
No, I don't have a link -- the elevators in my building have those TV screens that cycle through the day's headlines and news stories. One of the stories on the ride up from lunch was that Fox executives had announced that despite low ratings and contrary to rumors, Arrested Development will be back after baseball is over. The story was sourced to Entertainment Weekly, though I couldn't find anything on the EW (or any other) website.

I didn't mean to be rude. It's good news and I am happy. There's two episodes the night it comes back, as well.

Cant' wait!! They need to show Season 1 and 2 reruns every night somewhere. Fox is known for their scheduling holes. Before the season started, I saw it on and 1 am before Just Shoot Me reruns. How is that supposed to help build up an audience?

Any word on how well the DVDs have sold? I have not bought my season 2 yet, but I will this weekend, and hopefully this will show Fox that it is a show with a following. Maybe we need to go the L. Ron Hubbard route and every fan buy several copies of the Season sets and then give them as gifts or resell them on ebay, then the sales numbers look great.

Hate to say it, but since I just re-watched season two 3 weeks ago off the DVR, the dvd purchase is on hold since I won't be re-watching it for some time.

Just picked up my copy of Season 2 - even though I saw a lot of those episodes recently, I love the show and I'll watch them again, and I want to be supportive of keeping it on the air.

I do too, that is why I might order a shirt or something off the website instead.

I couldn't find season two at Best Buy... the shelf where it was supposed to be was empty except for one copy of Season 1... then I looked around and found a whole bunch of them on a cart that was waiting to be stocked, kind of hidden away from the DVDs.
I hope this means the first batch sold out, and not that they are just getting around to stocking it on Friday when it came out on Tuesday

I picked up my copy of season 2 today, and thanks to Reward Zone and McDonalds I only paid $12. It was hard to find, on the bottom of a shelf and they only had a few copies left, and I found no copies of season 1.

True, but when does Fox plan on airing the rest of the eps... if they have a full season order, even with new episodes every week for november/december, we get nowhere near a full season of shows...so what's the plan?

mine was not.
Does anyone know if it'll be back early if the World Series ends early? I bet they'd go with another episode of Prison Train or whatever it's called. I guess that since they've announced that it'll return Nov 7, they'll stick to that, but maybe they'll play the three earlier episodes or something.
