yeah, i agree. I'll watch no matter when it's on.

Why aren't networks using Tivo or other DVR stats to determine a show's popularity, along with Nielson ratings? Granted, if a show's a hit on Tivo, that doesn't necessarily mean that companies will buy ad time... if people are just going to fast-forward through it.

If we can get a full 3rd season out of this show, I think the creators need to see that as the grace of God shining on them, and gracefully wrap things up this season. If the show gets canned mid season, and the story lines are left dangling, I will still be happy. Given Fox's past track record, we should be glad this didn't get axed after six episodes into the first season.

I don't think there is a "wrap things up" with this show. It seems ripe for a Soap-like ending to me.

It turns out the whole series (Soap) took place in Bob's mind.

Solid points. It would help give a more accurate # as to who is watching, but at the same time kill the advertising angle.

When it comes to a series finale, let's remember that Arrested Dev already has already introduced to Jay Walter Weatherman. the one armed man!

That was a great episode, so sad that it may not last the season...

Good question. And releasing these numbers would certainly benefit TiVo since they could court those advertisers they want to have advertise over top of the FF you do over the ads.

I can't believe so many people still WATCH live TV. Even pre-Tivo I ALWAYS taped everything so I could FF through the ads.

Don't read if you don't want to know how it ends.

No, Count Dooku. He posted what appears to be a spoiler right under my post so it was the first thing I saw when I clicked on "Read first unread post!" DOH

By the end of the year, Nielsen will have the capability of reporting dvr usage. I can't remember if this is being rolled out in November or December. They will be able to report whether the show was viewed live, same day, or within 7 days (if someone watches it later than 7 days after the original air date, it won't be counted). So if AD has a larger dvr viewing audience, hopefully it's ratings will get a little bump next year.

why would a tv network care if we're recording the show using our dvr? they don't make the show for our enjoyment alone, they make it to sell ads so they can make money. they probably shouldn't include dvr numbers, even if there was a way to accurately count that, because those ads are not being watched in most cases and those numbers will not help them sell future ads. Dvd sales will be something fox will have a greater interest in.

As far as the show, great episode. I love how the retainer for Bob Loblaw has already been spent, haha. This family is the best. or the worst? funny either way.

maybe if all else fails, AD could become the first ever direct-to-DVD TV show..

No with the production costs for those episodes. It's an expensive series to produce.

All this talk about evil DVR users has me wondering, do the average Joes that are now buying DVRs or getting them free from their satelite and cable companies really bother FF during a episode? My uncle, who is very avgerage Joe, has a satelite DVR and he hardly ever uses it and I have never seen him FF a show. I know I do not always FF through commercials, as I use them for bathroom breaks or changing the kid, kitchen run, etc because I have been conditioned to do this stuff during this time. Plus with the FF/advertising Tivo is working on this should be a non-issue.

I was thinking the same thing cusm. I bet most(average joes) "forget" they can fast forward since it is such a crystal clear recording, they forget that it is just that.

My parents did just that last night.
