Drama? I thought this was funnier than the first episode. Of course it's too good. It will get cancelled and shows like Joey will stay on the air.
Love when the guy asks the guy to say, Luke, I am your father through the mechanical contraption.

Lots of funny stuff this ep. Stll liking this show a lot. I thought the "rent a VCR" thing was really funny in light of the fact that they had all those VHS tapes in the house/trailer. Crab-man is awesome, and the poison cookie part was great. Loved the big print bible too.

How is it during its timeslot though. 3rd? Not sure how to read those numbers above. They are about as clear to me as the Lost numbers.

Those two last lines were just perfection, I loved the delivery of both of em.

I uploaded that one part if you want to see it again.

After two episodes I am pretty certain of one thing, the music will more than likely be changed for the DVD release. There were about 8 songs in the premier by big name artists and another couple in this episode. Just a vibe I'm getting.

Keep those DVR recordings or transfer them over.

You honestly think in this day and age when TV on DVD sales are skyrocketing and producers have learned from past mistakes that this would be a problem? I imagine these days they get all their ducks in a row on that issue.

I fear the same thing, although Scrubs made it. I'd love an Earl / Scrubs hour.

To be fair, Scrubs walks the line. It is successful enough to stay on the air, but not successful enough to warrant a fall premier.

With their Thursday night bombing perhaps they will bring Scrubs back sooner rather than later.

But this is a new show made when producers are quite aware of DVD sales for TV shows, so I would think that they included DVD release rights in their licensing agreements for any songs used on the show. (TV shows & movies that have had difficulties in this "song rights" area are usually ones made before DVDs existed, so it wasn't part of the original licensing agreement.)

(Of course, if they didn't in some way include future technology like HD DVD or Blu-ray in the licensing agreement, the rights to use the songs could be an issue if the producers ever tried to release this show in those formats.)
