I love Kristen Bell in Veronica Mars but her TV theme song performance at the Emmy was just cringe worthy. I didn't bother watching the other people perform.

Alda ripping up his speech was "a bit"...he wasn't seriously upset (or, at least, he wasn't caught on camera being upset).

My favorite shot was them cutting to Shatner after Green Acres won favorite song.

Actually, I take that back...my favorite shot was Marg Helgenberger dancing during the opening act.

Ellen was ill-prepared last night. Conan and Jon Stewart got the biggest laughs...maybe one of them will get to host next year. Heck, Conan is so good in front of a crowd, they ought to ask him to host the OSCARS.

Conan hosted the Emmys a few years ago. He did a wonderful job at it. Expect him to do these gigs more and more when he takes over for Leno in a few years. Right now, being on the East Coast, it's too hard for him to prepare for the show and do his own show.

Yep - a good bit from Alda. Good to see folks not take it so seriously.

That cut to Shatner was great. Like I said before - he made the night.

It was definitely between Close and Hargitay (with her bait tape). Garner submitted a GARBAGE tape and Conroy was barely in hers (although she had dynamite scenes).

I read that Arquette had a huge Emmy campaign to get nommed and then whored herself to EVERY entertainment magazine to talk about the show. She then told a magazine/article that she didn't want to win because "she didn't want to forget anybody in her speech". Total bullshit artist.

I'm surprised people are complaining about James Spader. Boston Legal is way better than Deadwood.

I would have rather seen Jeremy Piven win over Brad Garrett. I hope these type of things do not help him in getting a spin off for next season.

Biggest surprise to me was Felicity Huffman winning. I am glad Marcia Cross did not win, I can't stand her.

I figured Raymond would win best comedy.

I would expect him to do it not more frequently than every fourth year, since it rotates between the four networks and I doubt the other nets really want to showcase NBC's brightest star.

It was a pretty good night for House overall. I was glad to see them get some recognition, especially for that one episode. Blythe Danner winning for Huff was another one I was pleasantly surprised to see.

My biggest disappointment was Jeremy Piven losing to Brad Garrett. I like Brad Garrett a lot, but I don't think he deserves 3 Emmy awards for Everybody Loves Raymond. That's just ridiculous. I was also disappointed that Oliver Platt lost to Shatner, but I've only watched Boston Legal once.

Oh, and I don't know if she's ever won for playing the grandmother on Malcolm in the Middle, but if she hasn't then Cloris Leachman got jobbed.

What's WRONG with you?

I almost cried when Stewart paid tribute to Letterman, saying he was to people his age what Carson was to Letterman.

Wow, huge compliment and sometimes, although I know Conan and Jon already feel that way, you realize that they can't really say it.

Conan has obligations to NBC and Stewart has his own show which competes with Dave.

But he picked a great moment to salute Dave.

Doing a one off and doing it every 4 years is certainly more frequently.

I know he'll do it more frequently once he takes over Leno's job. He was born to do it.

Am I the only one who thinks that Everybody Loves Raymond is hugely overated. Brad Garrett beats out Piven, ELR beats out Arrested Development.

A quick check at IMDB confirms you can sleep at night. She won the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy in 2002, and has been nominated every year since.

Quick James Spader question - Is he married still? Though he divorced a while back. If so, who was the woman he was winking at and talking to? GF? She looked familiar, but dont know from where. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.
