Man, I had no idea there were so many Lost haters.
I think people are just way too impatient. It's only the FIRST season.
It is not an episodic show. There are very large long story arcs.

Same here, by no means a Lost hater. But I don't think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread either.
Some episodes were great, some were mediocre, and as a whole the first season was just a little too slow for my tastes in terms of answering questions and introducing new ones.
And like you, I'm worried the main arc will fall apart down the road like X-files if they drag it out this way indefinitely.

I love Lost so far, but my fear is it will end up like Alias, a show I abandoned a long time ago.
