Over There - Worth Watching??
I was browsing around tv.com and seen the show "Over There". I was wondering what everyones opinions were of this show. I tried doing a search but the words 'over there' are too "common"...
Thanks

Just read it isn't doing too well. Premier went like gangbusters, but it dropped 40% of its audience by the second week and hasn't recovered. I think it is averaging around 2 mil. viewers. Not good. Doubtful it will last.
That being said, I recorded the first couple but haven't watched them. It looked good, but I'm just not in the mood for a war drama. Probably a common feeling among viewers.

I have all the episodes sitting unwatched in my Tivo. I just haven't felt like starting to watch it yet. I haven't heard anything great about it, so as time passes, I might not even start.

I have all of the Over There episodes waiting on my TiVo. However, there is no buzz about this show, and my interest is waning fast. Stick with Nip/Tuck, Shield, and Rescue Me? Has F/X thrown us a stinker?

It is no BoB, but I am enjoying it, mostly, none the less. They need to get it grounded in more realism, and cut out the crazy ass song.

I'm still watching and enjoying this show. I thought the third episode dealing with the "roadblock" had some tense moments and was excellent.
The theme song doesn't even really bother me.

If Prisonbreak's supposed to be the best new show of the fall, then Over There is far better than any of the upcoming new shows. I like Over There, but it really pales in comparison to the 3 best shows on TV right now: Rescue Me, ...Philadelphia, and Starved.
The theme song is the worst in the history of TV though. Regardless of what you think of the song, it's fucking inexcusable to play it over the final 3 minutes of every episode. The song is written and sung by the creator of the show. How fucking pompous do you have to be to play that shit over what is often supposed to be most important couple minutes every episode?

Something lame the creator wrote and performs himself, EXTRTEMELY amateurish.

If you have it recorded just fast forward through the parts that don't involve the troops on the ground, that's far and away the best part of the show and is very good. All the stuff that happens back home and in the hospital really drag the show down.
