Here is what sucks: They are already running reruns of reruns...

The episode they aired today we already saw either earlier this week or last week.

I have mixed feelings about Amber MacArthur. As a co-host she really sucks, with a delivery as wooden as my living room floor. But then, on the other hand, great googily moogily is she hot!

Andy Walker Gone already.

Well Andy is gone so it will be Leo and Amber from now on, well until sometime next year for US viewers anyway. I think it's pretty messd up that they screwed over Andy Walker like that. How could they expect to offer him less money and for him to stay on.

Are these shows ever current? The Andy Walker blog states that the show filmed in August will air in October? How can a tech show not be current to be relevant?

I like the show but I skip all the "Calls for Help." The help segments are a bunch of boneheads. The other segments are good though.

That really sucks that Andy is leaving. I am in shock. Probably due to Kevin Rose being on a couple of times a week now. I would rather have Andy on everyday than Kevin on a couple of times a week.

Err... I'd started to record this on *shudder* G4, and put up with the fact these episodes are ridiculously old (For a show about PCs) assuming they were reruns. That post on that web-site finished that... First of all, yay, I can go back to saying I don't watch that shithole of a network G4 again.

But what the fuck are they trying to pull with this show? I can accept it isn't going to be live since Leo films a months worth of shows in a single week. But, as someone mentioned above, a technology show filmed on August 12th not airing for two months... In Canada? That's pretty bad in and of itself.

But in the US, a show filmed on August 12th will air, at the earliest, in January, FIVE MONTHS after it was recorded? Uhh, okay. A five month delay... You take a program like Norton Systemworks, or really, most popular software packages, that releases a new version every 9-12 months... This show will never be relevant with a five month delay. Unreal.

And while I'm posting on this thread, in reply to the comments on Amber. I always thought people were odd when they said Morgan was ugly, so I guess I'm due for having a reverse opinion from the mainstream.

After watching the first show, I thought her looks were more of a negative on the show than her wooden dialogue. Her face is just... There's something about her jawline and nose that are rather unattractive. I guess I've gotten spoiled with tech shows going after super models. But then, I always had the hots for Kate Botello, so that kind of ruins that theory. Mmm... Kate. So geeky, yet so very hot.

What a surprise. Many of the people clamoring to have CFH on in the US again are now tearing it apart.

This show is geared toward the less knowledgeable tech user. The show is "Call For Help" - ie people call in looking for answers to tech problems. A problem that someone has in August is just as likely to happen to other people in October. This isn't a cutting edge tech show that looks at breaking news in the world of tech. It doesn't review the latest versions of software packages when it is released.

The August taping of shows that are airing in October are not the norm. Typically, Leo tapes four shows a day for four days, and they are aired throughout the following month, with the rest being supplemented by reruns.

It took me awhile to warm up to Amber, but I like her now. She is much more knowledgeable than the first Canadian cohost, Monica Litonwa (I know that is not spelled correctly).

Anyway, since it is buried in the G4 programming, most people aren't going to see it. Only those who really enjoy and get something out of the show will likely go through the hassle of catching it or taping it. I've seen every episode since it started in Canada, and have gotten a lot of useful tips and tricks from it.

I was first exposed to Amber on her Command-N web show and it wigged me out how she ended all her sentences on up-notes (kinda like she was always asking questions). Other than that I think she's one of the more competent tech "hotties" I've seen so far. She seems to know what she's talking about which I dig.

The show if pretty good. I like the segments a lot better than the callers, but that was true of the old CFH and TSS (to a lesser degree) so that's fine.

The time delay between when the shows are recorded and aired is a little wonky though.

Bad news... looks like it's being quietly dropped from G4's schedule. No new episodes are scheduled at all.

Not a huge loss if they drop it; for the past ~month or so they've been repeating the episodes they only just started broadcasting a couple months ago (which were already old the first time G4 aired them).

okay, guess I'm back to only keeping this on my channel list for an occasional AOTS segment during commercial breaks for other shows.

G4 initially bought only 60 episodes- hence the reruns. I was hoping they'd buy more, but I guess not. I have to wonder what the point was.

You really have to wonder about exactly what the deal is with G4. I literally cannot understand how they are able to justify anything they do, as they seem to make decisions to lose money. In regards to Call for Help, on a Twitcast a few weeks ago, Leo mentioned that Call for Help was getting extremely high ratings in comparison to the network average, at 11 in the morning. They then move it to 9am, where it basically dies.

I just don't understand how a network could have made such a decision to move one of their only shows attracting people, at a horrible time-slot, to an even worse time-slot to kill it off. For the first time since TechTV became G4, I tried watching "Attack of the Show" last night. They were having some clip highlight show. It was literally the worst thing I have ever watched on television. I watched the entire hour and I don't even know what I watched. It was just utter nonsense, and I have to imagine the ratings reflect that.

Laporte is a proven ratings draw, the network is perfectly poised to take advantage of that and instead makes ever effort to get the lowest ratings possible, and when it still succeeds, tries to bury it even more. I'm way past being pissed over their running TechTV into the ground, but I just don't understand how as a television network they can rationalize these clearly counterproductive decisions. I wouldn't have any idea about any of this if Leo hadn't mentioned the ratings on TWiT, but everything he said made it clear the network heads of G4 are actually trying to get the lowest ratings they possibly can. Just plain sad, thank god for IPTV.

Yeah but with the image change they are going with, I am suprised it took them so long to stop airing the show. As for AOTS, I cannot stand it anymore. The only reason I will be watching G4 now is for ST:TNG

I was gathering that they were going to drop it since for the last couple weeks we have seen all repeats of what they already have shown. G4 sucks. Too bad another network doesn't somehow snag Call For Help.

I have given up on CFH even though I was a huge fan of 2.0 early on. Since Andy Walker got tossed, the show has really gone downhill to me.
