Into the West 7/15 Casualties of War

If you missed this week's it was a beast, best one so far IMHO.
Spoiler:
Custer's last stand, Dog Star's other son and Jacob, Jr. are killed, and 150 Native American children are assimilated in a white school. I was a wreck when Dog Star explained to Voices that Carry why he had to go and when Voices cut his hair.

Looks like almost everyone has written off this series but I think it's been quite good. The Sand Creek Massacre in Episode 4 got me crying and as I knew the story and what was coming it was that much more powerful when they showed it.

In this last episode I think they glossed over the Little Big Horn and it could have used more depth. But the Indian school sequence was quite powerful.

I agree with the criticism that the characters are kind of hard to keep straight and it's certainly difficult to remember which damn Wheeler is which. But if you don't fret so much over that you can still enjoy each story.

Spoiler:
Looking forward to Wounded Knee in the finale.

Compared to the disastrous and ludicrous Empire this summer Into the West is friggin Shakespeare.
