I like Letterman a lot. I've been watching this guy since I was a kid so maybe my opinion is a little biased. Agreed that he's not as funny as he used to be, and he's definitely lost that edge that appealed to the college crowd in the 80s, but I still prefer Letterman over Leno, and Conan. A lot of times, it seems like his routines (Sink or Float, Top 10, etc) are just that: routine. Definitely not the comedy gold of yesteryears. However, Letterman's interviews are the best, and he's actually quite insightful in his questioning, his retorts, and comebacks.

I'm a huge Letterman fan, but I've noticed within the last year he has lost something. His interviews have become more and more awkward. If anyone watched the nicole kidman interview this week you know what I'm talking about. The only interviews I find entertaining anymore are the "friends of the program" guests like Regis. Dave is king, but I think he should turn over the keys to the late show really soon and be a full time dad.

Honestly, I don't think Dave has changed all that much. I think the comedy tastes of many here have changed and that's ok. But don't blame Dave or accuse him of sucking when it's probably your own tastes that's different now.
Dave is still the same Dave, albiet slightly milder but not by that much.

It's boring schtick for Letterman and Leno. Please tell them that Monica Lewinsky (and other idiots who aven't been in the news for 5 years) jokes are lame, tired, sleep-inducing, stupid, inane, gowawful, did I say boring? They have punchlines that would put Henny Youngman in his grave (see, I told you they were old jokes). If they don't have a good performer on, there's no point in watching.
