Figured I'd throw this in here instead of starting a new thread.

In the new TVguide it says, to no ones surprise, that this is most likely the last season of the show.

The bigger news from the same article
Spoiler:
As of right now Rob Lowe will be back for the last episode

If what happens in your spoiler, MrX (Homer, is that you?), that would be very cool. What would make it even better is if
Spoiler:
Aaron Sorkin comes back and pens the final episode
.

That would be very cool. Just like what Kevin Anderson did for Dawson's Creek.

Would that mean Vinick suddenly becomes a one-dimensional mustache-twirling stock character?

If it's the last season of the show, Mackenzie Allen's administration always seems to have a lot of vacancies. Maybe she can hire a few Bartlett staff members.

Well, in "Hartsfield's Landing," Bartlett did tell Sam that he would run for President some day. Would be cool to have the series end on a Sorkin-written look into the future episode.

Got my TVG before. I think this is worthy of its own thread. Since the character was one of 2 majot losses the show took.

That part at the beginning of the new season where they were all waiting for the new president, was that specifically the next president? Or could it be the president after (Sam)? I think the caption said two years later, but I can't remember. It definitely wasn't Vinick, no matter how hard they claim to be impartial.

I've pretty much caught up with West Wing in the last year or so from the beginning. As I remember it, Sam's status was left up in the air. We never heard whether he won or not.

It was said in passing at least once I'm pretty sure, that had he not won he would be coming back (to the ww - the offices not the show). We know it couldn't happen because of the contract issues.

the first scene from this season was in three years (i think). it was definitely bartlet's immediate successor.
