Jerry Springer

I watched Jerry Springer today for the first time in about 6 or 7 years.

Can't believe it's still around.

Although, I think the audience members are even more pathetic than the guests who appear on the show.

Jerry would be so much better if he aired on HBO or MAX.

It's been a pretty good run for a one trick pony.

The Maury Povich show seems like the Jerry Springer now! I always liked the Springer show until they toned it down, the violence, that is...

springer is currantly in the uk doing a "brit" version of the show for morning tv. i've seen a few preview clips and it looks tragic. foul mouthed pikey scum and toothless gypos telling the nation of their pathetic existence and discusting lifestyles.

just like the US version

60 year-old hermaphrodites baring booty while pixilated = funny
60 year-old hermaphrodites baring booty uncensored = nauseating

The bleeps and the pixilations are part of the camp IMO.

No, that was more '93...

When I was there, the topics were the exact same as now (adultury, lesbians, adultury, klan members, and did I mention adultury), but it was the season before the infamous season with all the fights. Under our owners/syndicators, we cut all that out.... when the show was sold following year, the new owners let all that stuff stay in the show and the ratings exploded.

Did they encourage the fighting then as they do now? Seems they wouldn't bother so much since they were cutting it out anyway. Nowadays it's just a nightly "Battle of the Toothless Stars."

I watch when there's nothing else on. Same old type of guests and smug Jerry Springer. I'm surprised it hasn't been cancelled yet.

If a guest was out there giving lame yes/no answers to everything, we'd take them backstage during the next commercial break and go into hyper-cheerleader mode (Dude, he fucked your wife you're gonna take that? Remember how mad you were when you called? That was your friend--he betrayed you!!) to rile them up. Like I said, our owners made us edit out the fights, but we still wanted the guests to be as animated as possible.

haha, I bet that was standard practice on all talk shows. I saw a show on HBO(?) where they did that inside look at the different shows and they showed a clip of one of the Geraldo producers doing the same thing.
