Now I think I know where my recent "Strictly Ballroom" Jones came from.

My Kelly won!
*ahem* She's mine!!!

I don't really think they deserved to win, but getting the 10s in the finale is not "rigged" on its own. Any judge worth anything should not give out a 10 unless he sees the most perfect performance ever or unless it's the final performance. You can't give out 10s until the end to leave room for a better performance.

Now, you could argue they didn't deserve the 10s and that it was a huge "coincidence" that it happened that way when we all know that last week's audience vote was the true deciding factor, and I wouldn't be prone to arguing against that, but there is a logical reason why no one got a 10 until last night.

Patrick Swayze.... Did he have
some work done or what?
Good Lord! I almost didn't recognize him.
Maybe he's sobered up?
Maybe it's a combination of both?
Face/eye lift and on the wagon?!

I definitely agree that not seeing a 10 until the last episode doesn't mean anything was rigged. But seeing THREE 10s when she NEEDED 3 10s, on a (flawed.. at least 3 times from what i saw) performance that was definitely not comparable to John's performance (no 10s in either of the rounds for him??) -- that's just plain screaming "fix".

We all knew Kelly would win due to the audience poll last Wednesday. I just think I would have been less annoyed had they been a LOT more subtle about it. Have them tie the judges votes (with lower scores in both rounds). Then there's no question that the "audience vote decides it" (even though it WAS decided last week).

I was disappointed by the finale to this show as well. And, sorry to add to the "fixed" bandwagon but the results were definitely fixed. I knew the audience would vot for Kelly no matter what but she screwed up quite a few times in the freestyle. I counted at least four missteps. She didn't deserve a 10. But she gets three of them for a flawed performance?! Now I don't hate her. I think she really did improve as the show progressed and I really liked her determination but the judges were far too lenient. On the other hand, I think she didn't deserve a score as low as a 7 on the previous dance. At the very least she should have gotten an 8 if that judge wanted to be a hardass about it.

This really killed the show for me.

Exactly. The judges were definitely hard asses throughout the whole series. But all of a sudden they see this flawed performance and all of them give 10s?

Ok.. enough from me. Kelly definitely did improve throughout the weeks -- and she IS pretty damn hot.

Yes, she is goregeous to look at (never heard of her before this show) and I didn't mind seeing her for pure eye candy alone. I'm also glad she didn't try to rely on her looks and actually pushed herself to excell. In spite of that, she didn't deserve the scores she got. I'm glad I wasn't in the audience cos I would have yelled a pretty audible "what the f***?!" when to three 10s came up.

The first dance she should have scored a little higher but the last dance should have been 7 and 8s because she has danced better than that.

I finally give reality TV a shot and then something mind-boggling like this happens. *l*

I only saw the last 30 minutes of the entire series, and I still feel robbed of my investment!

I'll never claim to be a dance expert, but I saw several moments in Kelly's final dance that I assumed were missteps, or just looked wrong. I was already feeling bad for her for what the judges were about to say, and I was stunned to say the least by what actually happened. The performance by John was perhaps less flashy, but looked a lot more tight and was more entertaining to watch I thought.

J Peterman was jobbed. Look for him in a cave in Malaysia after this hijink.

You may have not noticed but he got a commercial out of this. He was in a Progressive Auto Insurance ad.

We were on the road last night and I asked my friends to TiVo it for me, but they recorded the repeat of last week's and not the Finale... and I'm sort of glad.

I would have hated to see O'Hurley get robbed (which is what it sounds like).

Looks like an ABC'er won... next year when the run this again, they'll put Jorge Garcia (Lost) on stage and he'll win since he's an ABC poster child as well.

to the concept.

to the show.

to the finale.

I agree with you but I believe she would have won no matter what. The voting system was plain dumb and you add to the fact that she was audience favourite (regardless of any talent she developed through the course of the show) and they're the one's who really decide. That said, it would have been less offensive had the judges voted fairly during the finale.
