If Sergio made any mistake, I think it it was not smelling a kill and going after it when he had Peter dead to rights a couple of times during the fight. 3 or 4 times Peter's legs buckled.

I loved when Sergio was talking shit to Peter's father and his corner, and also when he apologized for it after the fight. As someone said before Sergio is best when he is cocky and antagonistic. That's what charges him up.

Glad to see Jesse and #1 Daddy go down again. I don't know who's favorite Pox Boy was, but nice to see him get a win even if it was after the fact.

Sly sucked on the live broadcast but let's remember: he isn't a live performer. I don't know what some of you guys expected. The guy is in movies like Judge Dredd and Cobra, all of a sudden he's supposed to turn into Howard Cosell? Cut him some slack. That said, I agree we didn't need him doing punch by punch commentary.

Did Joey say 1 word during his commentary?

Message to network execs: PICK UP THIS SHOW!

Joey said a ton on the fan favorite webcasts. He was actually pretty damn good.

Not once did I see Sergio look hurt or tired.. Not once.. He kept throwing punches and they were FAST punches.. Yes, they might not hurt but it just looked to me that he still had a ton of gas left.

Still wanted Peter to win but Sergio definately earned it.
I already mentioned that Peter was tired but it was mainly from trying to push Sergio around the entire fight. Sergio was in much better condition. The fact that Peter could barely stand at the end of rounds had more to do with the manner in which he was fighting rather than the punches from Sergio. I'm not saying he didn't get any punches into Peter but I believe Peter got just as many in on Sergio. The difference in the bout was the "ratta tat tat" punches and the fact that Sergio was in better shape(or wanted it more). I would have to give the fight to Sergio but it was far from 70-63.

He was a guest analyst on the 3 fan favorite fights. Like what Gomez did for the last fight.

Did they say specifically why Joey couldn't fight? His eye must have healed by then?

It still must not be healed completely because on the web page it says the following:

"Joey Gilbert has been medically suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and will not be able to participate in the Fan Favorites Fights."

Been avoiding comments and friends talking about this and FINALLY got to watch it last night. Great job Sergio and Phonso! Both 'fav" fighters won their matches. I to didn't want to see Peter win, although i respect him as a fighter, due to the whole 2nd chance issue that's been mentioned before.

Nice to see the actual fights for a change, instead of the editted versions from the weekly episodes. Some folks here mentioned the many clinches... I'd bet they happened in the 5 round matches as well, but were editted out.

My sons and I really got into this show, and when I told them it was not scheduled yet for next season, they were bummed. Let's hope someone picks it up.

But let's say they do.. How do they get the 16 participants? Are there another 16 "as worthy" possible contenders? Will they be able to "attract" more ranked fighters to the show this time? Should they? Should some guys from season one come back for season 2? Have I missed the window for this discussion since I watched it so late?

They'll probably choose another weight class. I'm sure that each fighter submits an application with video footage of them fighting.

Nothing against Fraza but that's hardly the fight anyone wants to see for Gomez.

Jeff was the inexperienced fighter Gomez was "supposed" to fight before he stepped up and proved his mettle with Manfredo Jr. Gomez is THE man.

Damn FSU game ran an hour later, so I missed the end of the Jesse vs #1 Daddy, and all of Peter Manfredo vs Sergio. Oh well. I really only wanted to see Gomez fight anyway.

WOW. Not too hard to figure out why boxing isn't doing so good. The judges blew both final fights. And for that matter, the ref called the 1st fight way too eary. I'm sure Gomez would have won but he shouldn't have called it when he did. One could easily think that all three fights were fixed.

ESPN is airing it again Wednesday at 9pmEST/ 6pmPST.

Watch it for some spectacular fighting and some shockingly bad judging/reffing.
