A Badlands song???? They had two studio albums back in the early 90s and then fell off the map with the rest of hair metal (unfortunately as I am a big fan). I don't ever remember that being a single.

Jake E. Lee and the rest of the gang owe Bo a big thank you as they may finally start seeing some royalty checks.

I believe Badlands fell off the map when their singer died. Ray was one of the most under-appreciated singers in rock, imho. They did a great cover of "Fire and Rain" by James Taylor.

Carrie is bombing her final song. She looks like every other karaoke performer I've seen sing this song over the years.

Hate to agree with the judges but Bo was clearly the best tonight. Carrie was good as well. Vonsell was her usual inconsistent self botching the first song but coming back with strong 2nd and 3rd performances. Even on her good songs though she seems a touch out of tune to me. Nothing she did tonight changes the fact that she should be the one leaving. She was a solid 3rd place.

Bo may just have a chance of winning this thing yet although I believe he is still a longshot.

This was easily Bo's night. His 2nd round accapella was amazing. Carrie did pretty good. I thought her version of Crying was pretty good. Vonzell was mediocre at best tonight and should be eliminated tomorrow night. We know Bo is going to be in the final which means Vonzell has to go.

Carrie's third song was her weakest, but not nearly as bad as Vonzell's first song. Wow, that one was really bad.

1. Bo -- it wasn't really close tonight, he was far better than the girls.

2. Carrie -- her good songs were better than her competition's good songs. She stays.
3. Vonzell -- she is entertaining, and something to look at, but this was her last night.

Occasionally when I'm driving around and lisetening to my CDs, I try to pick and choose songs I think would be a good test for someone on AI, and it was not even a week ago that "Making Love Out of Nothing At All" came on (NO, it wasn't an Air Supply CD, but I really like that song) and I wondered if Carrie could sing it (because of the high and strong notes). So I was REALLY weirded out when she actually started singing it - and it was her choice, too. I'm a bit disappointed she didn't get to what I consider the best/strongest part of the song--lyrically and vocally, so I'm not sure what I thought of her rendition. Because of all the changes in the song, it's a tough one to do in such a short time span.

OK - anyway, Vonzell butchered her first song. I didn't care for Bo's a capella song. As I thought would happen with Carrie's thrid song, her having to sing Shania's monotonous low register would sound funky, and it did. But Carrie did a great job with "Crying" and I dsidn't think she'd pull it off.

Vonzell should probably go, though.

My brother had that Badlands cd. Isn't the original version of the song Bo did also a cappella? That kinda might be why he did it that way. Very good job though. I also liked his "Satisfaction", and in all fairness to Bo the main reason it sounded like karaoke was b/c of the backing band. They're decent but not exactly the Stones. Simon's insults were really more their fault and not Bo's.

I also cracked up at Paula's (big grin, arms outstretched) "Bo, you're a gift!" moment. I kept waiting for "I'll be in my room at 11" under her breath.

I was underwhelmed by Bo's acapella performance. I thought it was a bold move and respect that but I didn't think it was as impressive as the praise that he received indicated. He still is running out in front in my opinion though followed by Carrie.

Bo's acapello song really blew me away, I had always thought his voice was OK at best but that he had a great stage presence. Tonight he showed that his voice really is good.

Vonzell should be going, but it wouldn't suprise me to see Vonzell and Carrie in the finals. Not because I think Bo was bad, just the way I see votes going.

I'm just glad I didn't have to watch Anthony Federov sing three songs.

I also believe that Vonzell will be the one to go. She has been in the bottom three a few times and is third best vocally.

I'm a big Bo fan in the sense that I felt he should be in the finals, however that's about where it ends. He always seem to sing in the same note (tone?). I can't put my finger on it, but it just seems like every song he sings sounds the same.

That being said, I've been a Carrie fan all along and I really think she can win it all...

We'll see!

The Vonz was a bit nasally and was my least favorite of the batch tonight. Sometimes she'll hit some rough notes that feel like fingernails on a chalkboard, while Carrie's voice sends shivers throughout my body. Her first song sounded the worse to me, but her second song was singing-by-the-numbers with little true attitude that it needs in the performance. Her 3rd song was the nasally one, but it was her best performance of the night.

Bo, well, performance wise, was better than the other 2 contestants, but I get so tired of the dragging of the mic stand around, and the head-tilt-to-the-left move he does all the time. Frankly, I didn't like his first song, he sounded weird to me, working with what he has, but that song begs to be sung on a higher pitch than what Bo can offer, and his long notes just grate on my ears, but others like it. Bo Capella was his best, his 3rd song was pure karoake.

Carrie should have tried for that ending falsetto note because that's the signature of that song. Her second song did get ramped up too fast, and soaring vocals at the end sounded a little rushed due to the congested middle section. Her 3rd song was okay, but she started out a little rough, but got into the groove. Shania makes that song sound so easy to sing, but I don't think Carrie's lower registers allowed her to really sink her teeth into the song.

I have no idea who's going home. With the extra numbers in play, who knows?

FWIW here's my rankings:

Song1
1. Bo - slight edge over a great rendition of Crying by Carrie
2. Carrie
3. Vonzell

Song 2
1. Vonzell - great stage presence over less than great a capella and crap Carrie
2. Bo
3. Carrie

Song 3
1. Vonzell - more of same over karaoke Stones and terrible Shania
2. Bo
3. Carrie

I really liked Carrie but I think she's gotten progressively worse in recent weeks. Vonzell is a great performer - she makes me believe every song she sings. Bo is the total package and should win the competition.

Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me was the best perf of the night by far, IMO, with Crying 2nd. I thought Carrie really sucked in rds. 2&3, and Bo fell off slightly with Vonzell stepping it up with energetic performances.

Regardless of the outcome, it was amazing to hear Carrie hold that note as long as she did. Wow!

I've hated Bo this entire season, but that 2nd song was the bomb, yo. He can blow!

I liked Vonzell in the very beginning, but she is getting on my nerves. The problem is she DOES NOT make me believe many songs she sings. She has always smiled inappropriately during certain ballads, giving me the feeling she is not "living the emotion" of the song. Vonzell is doing what Constantine was accused of -- constantly playing to the camera, trying to endear herself by smiling prettily. At least Clive Davis finally called her on it tonight, saying she shouldn't be smiling during that song.

And yes -- Bo should win it all!!!!!!!!

I listened to it twice, and I thought it was worthy of the praise he received. Going into tonight, I thought Bo had just as good of a chance of going home as Vonzell did, but now he's probably got an edge on Carrie as the favorite. He really showed up to win. I haven't been that impressed with him since he did Whipping Post and I think he may have topped it. Paula didn't do him any favors with her song choice, but by then it didn't matter. I was actually suprised he didn't try to get the audience to sing along for the last chorus of I can't get no satisfaction.

This was definitely the best show of the season. Vonzell blew her chances right out the gate because her first was the only song any of them really screwed up at all. I wish Clive was on an earlier show to point out that most of them don't pay any attention to the lyrics they are singing. Vonzell is the worst at this because she always looks like she's on happy pills. It never looks right unless she's singing something happy. She nailed Chain of Fools, but threw in a few too many giddy dance moves and not quite enough attitude.

I don't think Vonzell could've done anything to avoid going home. She needed Bo or Carrie to screw up. Carrie did a good job, but I wasn't too impressed with Randy's choice for her. He must've hoped she was going to strip like Shania does in the video. Clive made a much better choice with Crying. I didn't like the Air Supply song at all, but the end of that song was her high point of the night. That was damn impressive.

Clive did a great job as a guest judge. No matter what happens, I do believe him and Bo will work out an awesome CD.

I would buy a Bo or a Carrie CD, I am sure I would not buy a V CD.
