Cris Cornell grates on my nerves, but Say Hello 2 Heaven is one of my all time favorite songs and I don't think many could pull that one off.

And to moocher who said that if Bo bores me, there must be no pleasing me: I think we just have different musical tastes. Bo bores me because he seems to have a seven note range and sounds the same to me no matter what he sings. Carrie is a little more versatile, but still has the Stepford Idol thing going on and that, to me, is boring too. From reading your other posts here, I'd say you're probably more of a "rocker" than I am, which is probably where the disconnect is coming from.

Btw, Carrie will win because she's listed first and Bo's listed 2nd on the american idol compilation CD coming out, just like they've always done.
Season 4: Carrie 1st track, Bo 2nd track: Here @ Amazon (released 5/17)
Season 3: Fantasia 1st, Diana 3rd: Here @ Amazon (released 4/27)
Season 2: Ruben 1st, Clay 2nd: Here @ Amazon (released 4/29)
Season 1: No CD listed
Note the release dates. All were released during the final weeks of the competition.

Can't speak for the other seasons (since I only watched a few episodes of last season -- rooted for George Huff -- and none of the previous seasons, sans the finales of each), but I would've chosen different songs to be on this year's CD, than the ones they chose for the performers.
Next year I'm going to be in charge of that.

I mean last year Fantasia was "fingernails on a blackboard" to me. I almost had to leave the room when she sang and did not watch the finals due to her presence...but I would have to admit, she wasn't boring. Diana who I liked much better was the boring one of the two (I too was a George Huff fan.)
Oh, and actually I'm not much of a rocker although I do like it. I listen to popular music mostly. I can't stand country but wouldn't mind seeing Carrie win. She is very talented. Wish she would do something else. She's better at the non-country songs IMO.

Bo might be the first ever idol to RESSURECT a musical type...the hippie, hard southern rocker AND the pure rock god...who else does it these days?
Hell, if Bo could bring rock back to the mid 90's...I'll marry him.

I also find Bo boring. Probably because I don't care for the type of music he sings and also because no matter what he sings, it sounds the same.
His sound is very predictable to me.

Some lady at my office was offering me $10 if I vote for Bo next week as much as i can. I said hell yeah. People are insane. I'm hoping to get another $10 out of it if he does win.

I think it's great that a guy like Bo is a finalist. Hell, I nearly fell out of my seat when he started "In a Dream" by Badlands. That is a damn good album that not a lot of people have heard, especially recently. It's one of my favorites and listen to that album frequently, 14 years after it's release. I even thought that it was on par with Ray Gillen's version, different but still pretty good. I was singing under my breath as Bo sang it and my wife wondered where in the hell I had ever heard that song.

Regardless, I am fairly sure that Carrie is going to win this competition rather handily. I actually would be surprised if the vote is anything close. Simon mentioned in a recent EW interview that only the Clay/Ruben vote was close (Fantasia won fairly??) so I am expecting a sizeable vote difference in Carrie's favor.
Edit: unless Carrie implodes on stage - even then, I don't know if at this point people will change their minds.
