I don't know why you spoilered that NORML since it is just your speculation. I actually read it because I was having the same thoughts, and wondered if you or anyone else had wondered that. Kate really is an unsympathetic character. Sawyer is right when he says she is only out for herself especially after perhaps losing her "true love." I did like that they had Sun confess giving us pause that maybe she isn't that cold-hearted. Then we find out that she was just manipulating Sun to help herself out. Let's face it, she wasn't helping Sun out because she wants them to be together.

But, what does it all mean????
They better not leave us hanging in 2 weeks, I will stop watching if this drags on.

I could care less either way, the journey is just as fun.

I was intrigued by Walt, how could he know what Locke was up to by just a touch? Is it the Vulcan mind meld? Obviously, whatever is in the hatch scares walt so bad he now can't wait to get off the island. I was really glad he finally told his father what he had done. This would indicate that he is beginning to respect and possibly love his father.
Kate's story was only interesting to me in how it showed her total disregard for anyone other than herself. She seemed self-centered in the past and also on the island. Even though she told the Doctor to get out, I think we all knew that he was not going to, so that was another additional crime added to her list. Eventually you reach a point where you can't run anymore and have to face your past. The island has become that point with her and it was time that her past was partially explained to the other survivors. Was sorry to see that she had maneuvered Sun to do her dirty work.
Found the episode interesting and hope more answers are given in the next few weeks.

So, we still don't know why Kate was on the run, right? She apparently wanted to run away at an early age according to the audio tape in the time capsule.

This episode is sort of bringing me back to the show -- whether I'll regret that or not remains to be seen!
The hatch: Sayid says something about it being so obvious that there was no handle on the outside because it wasn't meant to be opened from the outside... so I began to think like $100,000 Pyramid of "Things With A Hatch That Aren't Meant To Be Opened From The Outside": a spaceship, a submarine, an airplane....
I got nothing....

Who is Kate's mother ? Seems she must be somebody important to have a guard outside her room. Or was the guard there to catch Kate if she came to visit. If that was the case you'd think the nurse at the desk would have alerted him when Kate asked what room she was in.

I have read in numerous interviews with the production staff that these last episodes are going to include a lot of PRE-CRASH footage of the plane going down that we only got glimpses of in the pilot. This is going to lead to more information on what caused the crash as well as why so many people survived while also opening up a whole host of new questions for next season. Since the show creates as many new questions every time it answers one, this doesn't surprise me. Of course, I will be pounding my HEAD into the wall when I think about the summer hiatus and waiting for next season!

I don't have a problem with the raising of new questions or a cliffhanger of sorts - that's the standard hook to keep viewers. Just dole out some answers here and there and I'll be fine.
From what I've read, the writers are well aware of mistakes made by The X-Files, with regard to not answering enough questions, so I think that's a good sign.
My only quibble (which I get is the carrot on the stick) is that there has been so little discussion by the characters of the "t-rex", which if I was stranded on the island would be a big concern of mine. Likewise with Rousseau, the hatch, etc....

Kate looked amazing last night in her backstory.
I want more of the sun/Jin storyline. Everyone else could vanish from the island and I would be happy just watching those two and how their relationship develops.
