Wow. I didn't see that coming. I guess that explains Lex's superpowers.

That was one helluva ep. And I'm there with Red Dog. Glad I've managed to skip the spoilers til now.

I so did not expect that but when I heard that voice, I actually exclaimed his name before Supes. This was a great episode! I can't wait to see what's next.

I was a little underwhelmed by the Supergirl/Powergirl rematch. I know Powergirl has gotten stronger but I was hoping Kara would put up a better fight.

Loved the bit with the Question and the bedpan.

Some things I don't understand about JLU:
  • Cartoon Network only airs them once a week. Why?
  • WB has [so far] been dicking around with the DVD releases by putting out 3-4 episode compilation discs instead of full sets. Why?
  • This is probably one of the best animated shows on TV, yet there's no weekly thread here on DVD Talk. Why?

Great way to end the season!!! I think I rewatched that sequence several times. Simply amazing!

I have faith in WB that they will do the right thing and release the Justice League and the Justice League Unlimited series in full sets. However, they better make sure that they collect the episodes in season sets instead of production number like Batman: TAS. Especially with the season long story arc that JLU used, it will be stupid to release it in any other way.

Good question.
Its funny how this thread became the unofficial one for this season.

You guys are in for a treat next week episode. "Divided We Fall" simply rocks! Some of us lucky enough to see it already have discussed this episode earlier in this thread.

Wow, that was a great show, it almost had the feel of a movie.

The bed pan was a fantastic touch.

Cool to see the justice league let loose on a ton of "Bad Guys" in the JL HQ.

Can't wait until next week.

I don't know how everyone else is seeing these aired, but in Los Angeles on the Cartoon Network the shows are airing in letterbox on Saturday and repeated on Sunday in full screen. The recent DVD "collections" have been full screen, even though they originally aired letterboxed. I've seen both versions and they were definitely made for the widescreen format. That alone has stopped me from buying the DVDs. I'd rather watch the letterbox version I recorded off the air. Unfortunately I'm a late bloomer (I only became aware of the show at the beginning of season 3), but have they always aired this way? I'm dreading the possibility that the season sets are going to be full screen.

(Let me apologize now if this has already been discussed, I scrolled thru the thread but didn't see it... this IS page 8!)

That was a great episode, so is
Spoiler:
that really Lex? Or is it brainiac only in a costume? Why didn't Superman or anyone else for that matter see this? Wouldn't X-Ray vision kinda find that out?

Also, do you think that
Spoiler:
Powergirl is dead? She looked kinda beat up from the reactor, nice to have Supergirl prevail in the end.

I hope they have more big feel episodes like this in the future.

Oh and someone mentioned this before, but when Flash
Spoiler:
said that Batman was running late, the Batmobile lost a wheel, the Joker got away...that was just a LOL moment.

The DVD versions of the 2nd and 3rd seasons of JL/JLU are shown in open matte (including the broadcast fullscreen versions), so you are actually getting more info than the widescreen versions.

If was meant to be shown widescreen, but at least they're not cropping it.

Now it would be nice if they release S2/S3 in anamorphic widescreen (like they did with the S2 Hawkmen season finale) but I'm not holding my breath.

Man, that was great.

Question for those that have seen next weeks episode. Put it in spoilers, please. Do we find out what happened to the real Lex?

Just as good the second time. I missed something the first time I watched this episode. Atom Smasher picks up a Javelin ship and throws like a javelin at one of the giant clones.

Love the part where batman tells them he is not turning himself in.

This is NOT true, from what I've seen of the televised versions. The sides of the screen on the widescreen versions have more of the picture than the full screen versions. The top and bottom seem to match up, but there's definitely more of the picture on the sides. I haven't compared them to the store bought DVDs so I don't know if they are truely "open matte". Which episodes did you check?

How many Brainiac episodes are there in Superman TAS? I know there is one in S1 but I haven't seen much of the other seasons. I don't recall any Braniac eps in JL.

Only other Brainiac ep I remember from JLA is the one where he attacks Darkseid's planet and JLA helps take him out -- 2 parter. Also had Orion, IIRC.

Watching the last few shows, made me feel like I was enjoying 4 shows of 24 right in a row. Many plot turns, surprises and non-stop action.

just caught up with the last aired episode and i agree with everyone else's comments that this is absolutely fantastic! i'm enjoying the extremely non-juvenile nature of this show.

i will definitely spring for the DVD season sets...IF they put one together. I don't see myself buying the individual collections they've been throwing together.

This span of shows has been fantastic. It's been a while since I've been eagerly awaiting the next episode of a cartoon. The writing has been great and on today's episode it was great to see
Spoiler:
flash
as the hero for once. He's usually useless pretty useless in most episodes. I've enjoyed these episodes so much that I even explained them to my wife Definitely agree with the "24" comparison...gets your heart pumping watching these recent shows
