Stephen Colbert gets his own show

I think this will be really funny. I remember they used to run the fake ads for it, I guess they are doing it for real now.

I will never quit watching Dave, but CC is clearly going to be the place to be for the best late night viewing.

On the one hand, all the Daily Show people are great, but they don't make a lot of money, so you want them do well and move on to movies and tv, but you hate losing them.

Samantha Bee will get snatched up soon and I don't want her to go.

Sounds good, hopefully they do the smart thing and pair this with the Daily Show.

I hope he takes "This Week in God" over with him. That segment is too good to just throw away or hand off to somebody else.

The extra workload means he'll sharply curtail appearances on "The Daily Show," he said.
Seeing as how he's only on The Daily Show every couple of weeks as it is, I think this is code for "I'm leaving".

I thought I've seen him a couple times a week, consistently. He was/is next in line when Stewart leaves or so I remember reading.

I don't know. That's my perception. He definitely isn't on more than once a week anymore.

Damn, I got here too late for all the good quotes...

As an aside, his bit about Bush and the two stallions the other night was the first time in as long as I can remember that I was worried about food coming out my nose from laughter...

I think he had a sitcom deal that ended up not going anywhere, good to see he's getting another shot.

Good to hear. He's by far my favorite person from The Daily Show, past and present.

This should be funny. Recently I have come to miss Tough Crowd. It will be nice to have another show wrapped around the Daily Show.

Oh man I can't wait for this. Ever since seeing those fake commercials I thought they could actually make a show out of the idea. Glad to see they agreed with me.

This should be good. Colbert has a very funny sense of humor. Interesting that Adam Carolla will be getting a show too...

I don't see Colbert as a good fill in for Jon. When Jon's wife gave birth Stephen filled in for him and was terrible on the interviews.

Wow, the Dail Show is rapidly becoming the next SNL in terms of grooming the next generation of comics.

He was around. Wrote some off Broadway plays and stuff. I don't think he became big till the Daily Show.

Bill Murray was around before SNL too, just not well known.

Colbert was on tonight's episode, by the way -- he reported live from London. And Monday he did the piece on Laura Bush's comedy routine at the White House Correspondent's dinner.
