It was nice to see one that had more gentle humor and less edge. I too can relate, because it sucked getting up early on Saturday morning to play a game I didn't like, with kids who weren't really my friends, and a lot of stress I didn't need.
Why didn't they just play Jimmy or Timmy?
Butters: "Son of a biscuit!"

So, does anyone actually like playing Baseball? I played for 3 years (although one was T-ball, which was actually awesome!) But when it got to pitching machine, it was the most boring waste of time ever. I remember feeling like the South Park kids, when the season finally ended my 3rd year I was like "YES! I can play video games now!!"

Man, I thought this one was awesome.
The Karate Kid homage was much appreciated. I also loved the other "bad" team that could hit people's bats with pitches.
And I also loved Randy's dad's pants around his ankles after every fight.
Butters: "Oh hamburgers."
I'm adding that to my lexicon.

Baseball is pretty boring to play overall. When I played in high school I enjoyed the practices more than the games - which ultimately boiled down to a "pitching contest".

Wow, I really loved this episode. Nice change of pace from the usual shock-humor or attempted political satire. Stan's dad was excellent and I nearly pissed myself when the Denver team started pitching bunts and batting outs. "We had it all wrong! While we were trying to find ways to make our team suck these guys actually practiced and got good at sucking!"

This was an ok episode. I missed the 'shock' value it usually has, with a moral or lesson at the end.
Loved the use of the song from the Karate Kid, but it sounded sped-up.
Click here for the MP3 of the original 'You're The Best' song.
On my Tripod space, no idea how many hits it can handle.

Great episode, I don't think the show has slipped at all in quality from last season. I think anyone who thinks it has slipped is just getting tired of the show (because it does repeat basically the same type of jokes and ideas a lot).
Randy Marsh is easily the funniest of the boys' parents, so every scene with him was hilarious (and didn't that Denver Dad sound like the wrestler Randy Savage, aka the Slim Jim guy, aka Spider-Man's Buzzsaw McGraw?)
I loved all of Butters' scenes too (isn't about time for a Butters episode?)
And I liked the cheesy Karate Kid song being played, and all of the Rocky references too.
Yep, great episode, and a nice "gentle" episode after the more outrageous ones that started off this season.
