Yeah I'm HD finally

Ok, so I finally got a hd-directivo, directv hd programming (only w/ showtime as a premium) and OTA channels set up.

Now - I gotta get me some good HD shows to record

Is there a good site that tracks HD programming?

So far I'm set up w/ HD seasonpasses for Alias and 24 - very excited about it!

As a side note - MAN IS THAT HD TIVO SLOOOOOOW ..

Wait until you realize that some TV actors have really bad skin.

Yeah - I made the move to HD several months ago. Can't wait for The Masters in HD this weekend.

Doesn't DirecTivo have a search for HD shows? I don't know since I don't have a Tivo but my cable box has an HDTV search and so does my ReplayTV, and it doesn't even record HD.

Since you are recording Alias, you may as well record the entire ABC lineup for that night: Lost, Alias, and Eyes.

Yes - welcome to the club. Note that since you now have HD, you are forced to watch all 3 CSIs.

I would suggest the following:

Monday
Las Vegas - NBC - 9 PM
CSI: Miami - CBS - 10 PM
You already mentioned 24
(Tonight only) NCAA Championship Game - ABC - 9 PM

Tuesday
House - FOX - 9 PM
Blind Justice - ABC - 10 PM

Wednesday
Alias - ABC - 9 PM
Lost (not a fan, but it's supposed to be good) - ABC - 8 PM
Eyes - ABC - 10 PM (watched some of the pilot last week, looked good)
CSI: NY - CBS - 10 PM

Thursday
Joey - NBC - 8 PM
Tru Calling - FOX - 9 PM
CSI - CBS - 9 PM

Friday
Numb3rs - CBS - 10 PM

Sunday
Desperate Housewives - ABC - 9 PM
Grey's Anatomy - ABC - 10 PM

These are just the shows I tape on a weekly basis...there are others, but they're not in HD.

You've made the next step...now enjoy watching TV as it should be seen!

It'll pass. Watching HD for sake of being HD wore off pretty quickly for me, especially with how much HD programming there is now, especially if you get HBO and/or like sports (ESPN).

No HBO HD? I know when I finally splurge on all the necessary HD things I will be most excited about their shows.

WATCH THE GAME TONIGHT!!

Even though I have no interest in College Basketball, NCAA Finals are the highlight of the HDTV season.

Red Dog...Masters...the SD cameras are really going to piss you off during the masters.

I don't have HBO either, even though I end up buying the shows on DVD. Another $12 per month is just too much for us (read: The Wife) to swallow.

You can search for "HDTV" in the Audio/Visual search.

I use that all the time to see if there's any HD shows I might not know are coming up.

If you get PBS-HD, set a SP for Rudy Maxa's Smart Travels. Great visuals.

I'm on DirecTV and can't get OTA, so I only had Fox (NY) network, but I just got my waiver for CBS in NY.
I then realized, I only watch one show on CBS.

But, the NCAA final should look good tonight! I'll turn that on after 24.

At any rate, I recommend the Discovery HD theater. I've been watching a crapload of that.

BTW, are you using the HDMI out? How is that working? I had to return the first one because of that already. Now, the optical audio on #2, keeps popping in and out, and I think the hard drive is periodically freezing up.

Yup. Especially Miami, which I still say has the best HD broadcast of any show.

Yeah, CSI Miami is pretty damn good. 24 is also fantastic. The DD 5.1 makes it that much better in that show because of all the weapons fire.

I don't watch it, but I'm betting your right. It is a nice bright show. The brighter colors always seem to look sharper than your dark tones like on CSI:Vegas.

Although...do not judge your TV pic quality by the presentation on 24...murky, dank, and dull

Nah - last week's Joey was broadcast (in Charlotte anyway) in SD. Which was actually good, 'cos some of the audio mixes on the past few eps have been *terrible*. Although I too missed seeing Drea DeMatteo in HD.
