she does have great chemistry with Dr. McDreamy. Their scenes were great last night.

They are pulling from the Hollywood Book of Cliches 101, Chapter 8 section 2b, which reads, when writing for a cast which includes more than one character of African American decent, one must be; a. female and b. sassy.
Apparently

I love Dr. Bailey, I think her character is a highlight of the show. I don't think she is cliche at all. With all the doctors hopping into bed, she is the one "voice of reason" trying to keep everyone grounded.

Sure. She's like "The Black Guy" on "The Real World" sittin' around watchin' all the white kids bang each other.

But she's still Stereotypical.

Hmm, which is funny since the creator of "Grey's Anatomy" is a black woman.

I think the character is a strong, smart woman who happens to be black.

I agree, but there is a line. She can't be a strong, smart woman who happens to be black and NOT have that "You go girl" attitude?

For the record I liker her character, she seems to be the only one focused on work. I just think she has a stereotypical personality.

Something I noticed:

I was watching the episode with the closed captioning on and during the scene where Bailey asks her patient where his parents think he is, he says "New Jersey" but the CC said "New Orleans". It also sounded like his voice was overdubbed as well.

The creator of the show had planned on "Nazi" Bailey to be a blonde bombshell bitch type, but Wilson won the casting over.

Hands down, Sandra Oh is the worst part of this show. Was horrible on Arli$$ as well. I think that Pompeo and T.R. Knight are the best parts of the show. Pompeo and Dempsey have good chemistry, and Knight nails every emotion and feeling in his character. You feel bad for him, sorry for him, happy for him, everytime his character feels something. I just feel annoyed whenever Oh's character is on screen.

And...Katherine Heigl looked HOTTTTT!!! in the dress.

I love me some Isaiah Washington (Dr. Burke). I have been a fan of his since he "tussled" with Jennifer Lopez in Soderbergh's "Out of Sight", which is one of my favorite movies.

It was initially weird seeing him as a doctor, but I am loving him in this role and I much prefer Cristina-Burke over Meredith-McDreamy.

I agree completely. Bailey is by far my favorite character on the show and the actress, who has done mostly Broadway up until now, can act circles around almost everyone else in the cast.

I liked the surgery in the elevator conducted by Burke via George. "You just flew solo." That was good. And Alex continues to let his failed medical boards affect him.

If I was George I would have at least tried to fall asleep by laying my head on Izzy's chest.

I didn't realize I'd ever envy George, but that opening segment in bed would be one time I would. I LOL when he left the room of the porn guy and George had to use his lab coat to hide his wood.

The one bit of timeline management that got silly was having Izzy looking on at the elevator surgery, and then going to check on the heartbroken patient, and then being back outside the elevator. I guess they had to tie up the subplot then and there.

I'm still bemused by the love triangle from around 30 years ago with the chief, Ellis and Thatch, and the one that Meredith finds herself in with Derrick and his old lady.

Yea glad the surgery in the elevator worked well for George since he had been getting the short end of the straw at the hospital.

So, Christina is going on about these three naughty nurses with huge... cut to Izzie. I suppose I'm the only one who saw humor in this? Intentional or not, great job editors!
