It's ratings have tanked too. It started off well but now even Alias is beating it.

I dont think it was pointless, it was funny dialogue right before the only action/violent scene in the show.

alot of stuff is not made clear, which is cool, i think they create the look of these 2 people being alone and not knowing anything, and lots and lots of bad guys, also very X-files-like

The new tvguide has a small blurb saying that the last 2 episodes have more going on than the 1st 4 so to people who havent seen it yet or stopped following CHECK IT OUT THIS WEEK. It looks promising.

I can't explain the ratings drop. I think the 2nd show was a snoozer that people thought the rest would be monotonous but things started to pick up last week.

I think the biggest problem with it was NBCs scheduling of it. Making it a 6 part mini-series and showing it only one episode/per week is a mistake, they could have shown it in three days in a row or show it in two weekends. Then you would keep the interest in it. I am now only half watching it If I remember it is on. At first I was excited about seeing it but having to wait a week for new developments is silly.

It depends how the last 2 episodes play out. Right now, it's not.

If you don't want to wait that long, Bravo is airing all 6 episodes consecutively Fri, May 20th at 8PM-1AM.

I think that would've been worse because that's what killed Kingpin, having 2 episodes a week, everyone would miss the 2nd part.

The show's very uneven it tends to lose steam and pick up again.

I don't know about buying it, but it's worth a look on rental or on reruns. It's fairly cheap being only a 2 disk set though.

I think my biggest criticism is the whole 'kidnapping of the stepson' who I have no sympathy for.

Not yet, but I do know one thing and that is that it is cancelled for next season.

It wasnt really cancelled, it was a miniseries so it wasnt expected to have another season. There was some talk because of its initial success but viewers tuned out more and more each week.

If you have them recorded, might as well finish it out. It kind of picks up after show 3 but some may not like the direction it takes. It's kind of... weird at the end.

As far as was is it worth watching, in my opinon it's not and I'm someone who usually enjoys this type of show. Didn't care for the ending because there really wasn't one.

Don't read any further if you plan on watching it

It was definitely left open-ended in case NBC wanted to make a series out of it. Pullman probably wouldn't have been brought back because his story is done now that he has Hawk back but they could have made a show about the nun searching for Christ and the anti-Christ.

I stuck with it until the end and I wish I hadn't.

No pay off whatsoever... why complain about the unanswered questions from Lost when you can have fun with one.

I agree with Mr. X, at first it was intriguing and then it lost steam with every episode... it was all I could do to watch the last two.

It was definately not worth it.

Pass on the DVD if there is one.

The only worthwhile to come out of the show was the smilie I was inspired to make:

Edit to add: This guy at the Washington Post has the right idea about this show.

God almighty what a friggin letdown this series was, after such a promising start. I'll admit I slept through a good part of the last two episodes, but who were the 10 or 12 people around the round table supposed to be? The ones that blew up near the end? Also, if they needed the virgin son for the anti-christ to be born, how did they do it without him?

The anti-christ was born and Christ was out in the desert being taken care of by an excommunicated priest.

I actually thought the mini-series was pretty decent. It wasn't the best thing I have ever seen, but it was better than a lot of other crap that is on t.v. I also felt the show had a satisfying conclusion. I was thinking while watching the ending that it was a pretty graphic representation of what a satanic ritual might be. Now, I don't know anything about being a satanist...but what was happening with the pentagram, robes, and goat all felt pretty real, evil, and creepy. I didn't like the fact that Isiah Haden (the fingerless creepy guy) walked away from the anti-christ's birth, or Hawk's "That's not my name" line, or the fact that the nun character disappeared while everyone else resolved the show's plot...but I did find myself almost on the edge of my seat during the 5th and 6th hour.

Worth watching - yes. Worth buying - no. W.

I think they needed the virgin son to die at the same time the baby was born, so the world would end. But it couldnt end before the new episode of SVU aired, so the son, and the world, was saved.

I think the very first episode was the best, as it introduced all the plot threads. The rest of the series either ended them unsatisfyingly, or focused on things that werent as interesting.

When it's out on dvd, it's worth a rental to check out the first show, and that'll help you decide if it's worth continuing.

Feel the same way with the 4400, as people tell me it kind of heads downward but it's a cool premise with some good episodes every now and then.

This is not Biblical. I thought they were going for authenticity???

What was the use of Hawk (Henry) in the mini-series? They built him up as the "sacrifice" but then left him in the dungeon and let him walk around. Were they just trying to toy with Massey?

... and Fred Durst better not quit his day job.

.. okay, maybe he should.

NOT worth it. Because they didnt solve the issues/questions. They left it open ended..because they thought they we're going to get a series. But NBC did not renew.
