The "Gays in Space" sketch is truly terrible, but I understand that some people might think that mincing gay sereotypes are humorous.

What really confuses me is that they present it as a show on TRIO and that Maya sings the theme song.

How is it that the show being on TRIO is supposed to be funny?

And isn't putting on the costume and wig a bit involved for Maya just to sing the theme?
Does she just want to be on camera that much? Or will she just not pass up any chance to sing?

Do these get a quick repeat (week or) anywhere like some of the WB shows? Maybe on E or Comedy Central?

I just watched the episode and that's Demi herself in the beginning.

Since this skit was also done on the Jason Bateman episode, I wonder if the Rudolph intro was live or used from that show.

As were the Spears and Garner raps too.

I'm thrilled he's return to his hip-hop roots. Parnell gots mad skillz.

Aston Kutcher is just an awful actor. Terrible. That push up sketch was embarrassingly bad and any high school kid in drama class could have done better then Kutcher in everything he did.

Gays in Space: Unwatchable.
Oprah: Major cringe factor it was so bad.

Gwen Stefani? What on earth was she thinking? She, alone is not even all that bad, but that first song was pure horseshit.
Those background dancers were butt ugly and I was hoping for a balcony sniper to take them out. Anything to make this song go away.

That's as far as I could make (or take it), this show was an all time new low.

I actually busted a gut when Ashton kisses Demi and ends up with her dentures in his mouth - C'mon, that's GOLD Jerry! GOLD!! [/Bania]

And Moore actually played an old lady pretty well, with good comedic timing.

I kinda like it when celebreties make fun of themselves and take the piss out of their personas.

"I hit the baseball"

"Who needs the Better Business Bureau when you've got the Better Bat Bureau."

Keenan Thompson is quickly becoming the male Amy Poehler with his mad minor character skillz.

Couldn't agree more. I think this did pass the Tom Green show. I like Gwen Stefani too, but everything was just...off. The Gays in Space sketch was just horrible.

I really liked Parnell's rap and the opening with Demi. Other than that, the show was not good (definitely nowhere as bad as Tom Green though).

I actually listened to Parnell's Britney Spears rap a couple of time in the last week and I laugh at it every time.

Which 2 songs did Gwen sing? I wanted to watch this just for her but completely forgot. I never watch SNL so it didn't even cross my mind to turn it on or to record it (d'oh!).

Sorry about shirking the duty of starting the thread... I was sitting here working on something else and completely forgot.

The first 40% was great... but then after that... all down hill.

Bu the Federline skit had me ... "I might be in trouble yo."

Anyways, Crossfire was the best tonight, coupled with the WU joke of the same topic.

I however did not find Chris' rap about Ashton funny. That was just perverse.

The next new ep is April 9th and its ___________ and Green Day.

Damn, two weeks in a row I've missed an SNL that I would've liked to watch. (Last week for Jack Johnson, this week for Gwen Stefani...and I want to see what's the big deal with the Fey and Poehler bootie dancing!!).

If any kind soul has this recorded (preferably on disc), could you email me at [email protected] and we can discuss possibly swapping for something or whatever else you can think of.

Oh give it a break dude. Granted, tonite's GIS had way to many lame jokes compared to other times they tried GIS but damn....Are Gays the only group left you can't spoof? SNL has always played with stereotypes in a fun way. No harm no foul. "Base-ball been veddy veddy goot to me". Remember those words? Did Latino Baseball players bitch? What about the Weekend Update "Consumer Segment"? A black guy beating and robbing a foreign shop owner. That has many many stereotypes stamped all over it. I don't hear you saying anything about that bit.....and more importantly you don't hear me bitching about it either because I get it. They're just jokes.

Ashton Kutcher is brutal. That was the worse episode I've seen in years.

Maybe it's cause I don't hate Ashton Kutcher like most around here do, but I thought the episode wasn't half bad...and certainly in the last two years, there have been at least a dozen that were far worse than this... the monologue was very funny and even though many of the sketches were hit and miss, there were some decent jokes and I thought Kutcher did a great job with the weak material...

The only reason I want to watch the episode is to see what the big deal about Tina and Amy's booty dancing was all about.
