George in the attic was the highlight of the night for me:(to Michael) It's all that fidelity and "pledging yourself to a woman" garbage. You know, I wine 'em and dine 'em, but I don't let them tell me what to do.
(to the dolls)I don't...let 'em tell me...what to do!

And once again, George Michael is a comedy natural. His reactions to Buster's hook were classic.

Buster: "Does what open cans?"

"Alright, I'm sorry I yelled at you. Apologies."
*pauses, looks at the dolls*
"Apologies all around."
Lindsay in the dressing room with Dave Attell: "So...you don't cry when you take those off?"
"What are you doing up so early?"
"My marriage is falling apart, Michael. I need a man like dad."
"Don't forget, dad was dismissive and disinterested."
"Yeah...he did have some good qualities, didn't he?"
"You have to convince your wife that you didn't have sex."
"But we did, and I'm not a very good liar."
"Both were lies."

agreed... normally i HATE kid actors, but the actors that play Mabey and George Michael do a great job.

The more and more I think about it...similar to another post in this thread...AD is about the hardest show to get into mid-series than any show I've seen. There are so many in jokes and references to prior jokes that they have no humor alone. The anne jokes for example would draw a blank stare from anyone who has not been privy to the way the joke has developed and evolved. The humor is in Michael's inablility to remember anne. It falls flat without catching it in any episode whenever anne is mentioned.

Wow, this was fantastic. The second viewing was even better than the first.
Even the throwaway joke of throwaway jokes had dying when those two guys were at the desk, 'sorry, you two have the wrong motherboy'

When the Fonz jumped the shark, I hit my instant replay button to revel in its audacity. Excellent.
I actually thought this episode came together very well towards the end, and it made me LOL, moreso than the previous few episodes.

This episode was a huge improvement over the two episodes that aired last week. This one was fantastic, but with so many references to previous episodes, there is no doubt why people have trouble jumping in, mid season. Sort of like Alias in previous seasons. Now that Alias has gone more towards contained episodes, it allows more people to join and understand right away, but the quality of the show has really declined, IMO.

Another reference to a previous episode I loved was when Tobias was talking to Dave Attell about the "nevernude" stuff: he very quietly said "there's dozens of us," a direct quote from the "Living Masterpieces" episode from the first season.

The constant reminders got me laughing. The hand chair and the seal Buster won at "Army". I wonder how far in advance they work on the setup for some of the jokes, did they have Buster win a seal to tie it in now? Pretty amazing if they did.

also makes you wonder what things are being setup right now for us to "get" in future episodes?

This is in my opinion one of the greatest and funniest exchanges ever on this show (and also most shows). So subtle, yet just perfect. Heck, it is one of the funniest things I've ever heard period, on TV, movies, whatever.
*in the attic*
Michael - I think it's getting a little too risky keeping you up here
George Sr. - Yeah, you know what's risky? Letting your son go on that church thing.
Michael - Well her name's Ann dad, and he's not "going on her", ok, their just friends.
Holy God that got me, oh boy.
