LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) It's a pretty basic rule-of-thumb: If you're a Big Four network and one of your new shows is losing in the ratings to The WB's "What I Like About You," things probably aren't going very well. If, however, that new show is losing to reruns of "What I Like About You," it may be time to pull the plug. Credit FOX for correctly interpreting the warning signs on "Jonny Zero." Effectively immediately, the drama has been pulled from its Friday night home.
"Jonny Zero" premiered back in January with the network relentlessly attempting to convince viewers that it's lead, former bouncer Franky G, was a bona fide television leading man. Viewers, however, weren't buying it. Through its first eight airings (out of an original 13-episode order), "Jonny Zero" has only managed to pull in 3.64 million viewers per week. That's lower than such already cancelled first-year duds as CBS' "The Will" (4.24 million) and ABC's "life as we know it" (3.8 million).
In fact, it's FOX's least watched original series besides "The Complex: Malibu," which only averaged 2.45 million viewers for its six fall airings.
As bad as things have consistently been for "Jonny Zero," the drama bottomed out this past Friday (March 4). Yes, the show's audience 2.25 million viewers was bigger than the crowd for UPN's encore of the premiere of "America's Next Top Model," but two different repeats of "What I Like About You" had better nights and "Reba," in direct competition with "Zero," had nearly twice the number of viewers. FOX stuck with the critically reviled drama for several months, perhaps out of respect for executive producer John Wells ("ER," "The West Wing"), but enough appears to have been enough.
For the next two weeks, FOX will air two repeats of "That '70s Show" in the 9 p.m. ET time period and on March 25, the network has the NAACP Image Awards.

Burns, who played hotel scion Nicole Booth on FOX's low-rated "North Shore" this season, has joined the cast of "Pepper Dennis," opposite Rebecca Romijn and Lindsay Price in what surely will rank as one of the prettier ensembles of this development season. Strong ("Boy Meets World," "Cabin Fever") will also be part of the cast, the showbiz trades report.

I couldn't believe how they ended the 21st (unaired in the US) episode of North Shore. Here's the plot synopsis (which I did not write, but is pretty accurate to what happened) of the episode, which is floating around with all those other bits on the web:
Like I said, pretty unbelievable.
Spoiler:
