Well,
I at first thought this post was a joke just to see the comments. A thought like it would never occur to me, anyways..
I haven't watched the OC but I am still waiting for 90210 on DVD.

I haven't watched The OC yet but have every intention to ( have the dvds netflixed). I do however watch Gilmore Girls and Desperate Housewives so I'm guessing I'm gay and just haven't realized it yet.

Has the whole world gone gay?

I'm guessing the poster is probably 12 or 13 years old, based on calling an entire series "gay". Once most people reach a certain age, they refrain from using "gay" as a slam against something. I'd expect such a ridiculous statement from someone in that age group, but for it to come from someone older than that either shows a homophobic attitude or just someone who has a lot of growing up to do.

Other posts by the OP make references to things in his home like putting VCRs in the "master bedroom". Clearly, he seems to be a homeowner and possibly married -- certainly NOT 12 or 13!

Although you would think from this thread that he's homophobic, he can't forget
Spoiler:
"Shelley Levene" was Jack Lemmon's character in Glengarry Glen Ross -- I knew I'd heard the name somewhere -- and despite professing a love for Pacino films, didn't choose "Ricky Roma" as a screen name, Pacino's character in the same film.
A few references in other threads (like Charlize Theron's "fine ass") make me believe "ShelleyLevene" is male (or a raging bulldyke).
Since joining DVDTalk on 1/31/05, he's started 25(!) threads out of 39 posts, but seldom returns to a thread after he starts it.
Yeah, now I'm just stalking him....

I see it as 90210 all over again but for the new generation.
I always thought that show was gay and I can't believe Fox would do it all over again.

I'm straight as an arrow, and I love the O.C. When I originally saw the previews last year before it aired, I dismissed it as a 90210 rip off, and I thought Benjamin McKenzie (Ryan) was just a cheap, annoying Russell Crowe wannabe. Then my gf made me watch it, and I thought Summer was hotter than 2 rats screwing in a wool sock, so I kept watching and really came to love the show for its witty dialog and characters (especially Seth).
I also watch and like Everwood, One Tree Hill, and I used to love Dawson's Creek. Only a close minded homophobe would deny quality tv shows just because they try and appeal to a certain demographic that isn't theirs.

I went to the O.C to visit some friends for New Years and it was nothing like it is on the show.
I was really disappointed but I was gay when I went there and gay when I came back so...

I grew up in Newport befor moving to L.A., and much of the O.C.(especially the attitudes) are real!!! They do a good job of showing the assholes with money( 7/10 people in Newport are Julie Cooper's....trust me on this). The other 3 are the Sandy Cohen's, just very down to earth, cool and blessed with what they have. Unfortunately Newport gets pegged for those 7 out of 10.

You went by the local high school, and all the girls didn't look like models?
There wasn't a half empty club with no cover where Green Day was performing American Idiot.
You didn't cross paths with a rich family who invited you to live in their poolhouse?
No one punched you in the face and said "Welcome to the OC, bitch"?

Believe me, I went looking for Luke at the local Mall but he had already moved to Washington. We were in Mission Viejo which was inland so we didnt see any of the Beach front property.

I'm straight (Should ask my girlfriend what we did 30 minutes ago!) and I love the OC. I didn't watch it the first season when it aired because I beleive it came on the same night as Angel. I picked it up on DVD, and one night decided to watch it. The first season is 27 episodes long, so maybe 21 hours or so. I finished the ENTIRE season in a day and a half. I didn't SLEEP so I could watch every episode, it was just SO damn good. I havn't done that since Buffy (My first episode of Buffy was the Series FINALE!).
Ive been watching 90210 and Dawsons Creek in re-runs in the morning. So the answer your original question, I'm not gay, and I love the OC.
