I completely agree! Finesse has been a completely unfunny waste on the show, so I was surprised by how funny his Morgan Freeman skit was. A humorous skit that's not too long + good impression(s) -- that's all I ask from the show. (Now if Finesse will just please stop doing the horrendous Shanique/Tanique/whateverthehellque skits! I'm begging, Finesse, please stop!!!)

A friend and I were talking about the show and decided what's most wrong with it now is it is missing the "crazy funny guy" that it has usually had in the past, i.e. someone who is so naturally funny that they are able to elevate almost any skit. In the past, the show had in this role John Belushi, Eddie Murphy, Chris Farley, Will Ferrell. Now they have no one like this. The show's producers seems to know this is a problem and are trying to use Amy Poehler for this role -- she is funny, but not crazy funny like the earlier castmembers I listed above.

Starkeisha... i only know because the horrendousness of it all has burned it into my brain.

oh, and dhmac, i agree. farley would have been amazing in the hot plate sketch, too. i can just imagine him flipping out and screaming about how hot the plates are, and ripping off his shirt. makes me laugh just thinking about it!

like that commercial parody where farley orders a coffee and they secretly give him decaf, and he completely flips out. god that was funny. i can't imagine anyone on the current cast being able to carry a sketch like that.

One of the top SNL bits of all time, IMO. "You...son...of...a...BITCH! YOU LIED TO ME!!!" Then he single handedly destroys the cafe while the chef bashes him over the head with a frying pan to subdue him and his wife sobs uncontrollably...an absolute classic performance.

I wonder if she's memorized the cue cards by now, or will she read them again tonight?

I see SNL has been saving time by using cardboard cutouts instead of real musical guests.
