Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

I NEVER used to bail on shows. If I made it through 3-4 episodes, I committed until the end, no matter how bad things got. (i.e. Dexter) However....in the past 2-3 years I've bailed on a number of shows, including -

The Vampire Diaries (two years ago)
Once Upon a Time (about 3 episodes into Season 2)
The Following (after this year's premiere)
Sleepy Hollow (never started this season)
Under the Dome (after last year's round of awful)
Agent Carter (after 5 episodes)
Helix (after the first season)
Penny Dreadful (after 5 episodes)

Some of the shows that people have stopped watching in the last few pages are some of my favorites (BCS, Bob's Burgers, Agents of Shield). Different strokes/folks.

I gave up on The Walking Dead. After the Terminus storyline quickly fizzled out, I started losing interest and really didn't care when it returned from the break. I guess the show got too dark for me.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

The Following
American Crime - I only watched a few episodes, so I'm not sure if this counts
Person of Interest - I dropped this one last season
Under the Dome - I dropped it after the 2nd season premiere
The Strain - watched the 1st season, but won't be back for the 2nd
Halt and Catch Fire - same as The Strain...if it is returning (?)

And I'm on the fence with Penny Dreadful. I'll probably watch the premiere and decide from there.

Oh yeah, forgot about that one. Dropped Penny Dreadful after four episodes as well. Might be the most painful show I've ever watched....just completely uninteresting.

Halt and Catch Fire is returning for another season (sometime this summer).

I dropped Glee a while back, along with The Vampire Diaries and Under the Dome. Am in the same boat as you on Penny Dreadfull - will watch the season premiere and decide from there.

Agents of SHIELD. I watched it up to the last hiatus, but didn't start watching again when it recently came back. And I haven't missed it, so it's permanently been dropped from my viewing list.

The show has gotten so ridiculous that it's looped around and become enjoyable to me for all the wrong reasons. The Emmys are saying a comedy can't be an hour long, but last season of Under the Dome proves them wrong!

Under The Dome is easily the greatest hour of television since the technology was invented. Centuries from now, school children will study it like they currently study Shakespeare.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

For now I'm adding another one to my list: Orphan Black. I enjoyed the first season. The second season... not so much. The mythology got way too deep. They laid the new clones on too thick. (While her performances are usually great, that transgender clone was eye-rollingly bad.) And that last scene - the clone dance party - was dumb and left a bad taste in my mouth. It was one of the few times that I could see the FX seams in the show. Really, it was so poorly done that I wonder how it passed muster. (And I felt like I was taking crazy pills when I read people elsewhere praising it.)

So my interest in the show really waned. I currently have plenty of other things to watch that I like much better, so it's not a huge loss. I'll give it some time and if I read that they've done a course correction I'll start the new season.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

I just started season 2 of Orphan Black. Season 1 was great but the whole thing does feel like it's walking a tightrope between being entertaining and just being absurd. It's also a show that feels like it needs to have a definite endgame.

Same here. I might have watched 1 or 2 after the hiatus, but just didn't care anymore.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

I gave up on The Following, despite having been a fan since episode one. It was abundantly clear the creative team for season three had changed for the worse. Killing off one of the most important characters last season was a disastrous decision.

Really? You go from loving it less than 1 month ago, to dropping it?

C'mon man, you don't want to stick around through season 16 of Supernatural.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

I don't stop watching too many TV shows unless they're really bad, because I tend to not pick up very many outside of my interest zone and try not to pick up much more than I have time to keep up with.

The last show I dropped / stopped watching was Marvel's Agents of Shield.

Recently gave up on Penny Dreadful, considering dropping Arrow but it's hanging on. Still very glad I no longer watch Walking Dead. Also, gave up on Bastard Executioner, Ray Donovan, Sleepy Hoolow, and did not like the Evil Dead premiere. I think there a few more.

fresh off the boat - still on the DVR but I just haven't had the inspiration to find the time to catch up. Just deleted a couple without watching.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

The closest I can get is trying a show on DVD (Or Netflix) and not caring after the first season. Aside from that once I am in I tend to stay there. At the moment I still need to catch up on Extant and find myself not really caring too much and may just read what happened.

I was always one of those people that watches every episode of a show until it ends 99% of the time. I can judge quite well if I will like something.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

I bailed on Sleepy Hollow after the first ep of this season, as it seemed like a reboot direction I wasn't liking the look of.

I was relatively content with the resolution of the Katrina/Henry arc, and the thought of a sexy Betsy Ross and/or sexy Pandora - let alone a Bones crossover - seemed like a good time to jump off.

In my head it ran two fun seasons.
