After being hooked on Carnivale all last season, I haven't watched a single episode this season, and I am indifferent. It was such a build-up to... nothing last season! I don't want to devote my Sunday evenings to yet a build-up to nothing this winter, thanks.

While I have not totally given up on Lost yet, I'll still watch, (for now) I agree with many of the posters here who feel we are ultimately being set up for letdown and disappointment.

There is kind of a Catch-22 involved with that show. There is incentive for the writers to wrap things up and answer questions for the viewers, but as much of an incentive to keep stringing people along.
Do the writers and staff want the show to have a long run or a shorter, more concise run?

I have not gotten involved with a Lost show discussion thread here in a long time as I find it much too tiresome. I'm afraid I could end up finding the entire show much too tiresome.

i have stopped watching SNL after it went downhill a few years ago

i try to catch dave chappelle on once in a while since it is what SNL is supposed to be. I personally like the classic episodes the most since the modern ones have had the PC police go through them to make sure they don't offend anyone

I'm sad to say, "Alias" may be coming to an end for me. I'm not fond of the episode route it's taken.

I'm not sure I will come back for the final season of "The Sopranos". The last didn't have much substance.

I've watched two "Numb3rs" episodes and that may be enough. I have the DVRed, but my not watch it.

to add a few things

I have quit watching the following:
Scrubs (so I can watch Veronica Mars Tuesdays at 9/8C has four of my favorite shows in Scrubs, Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill, and the Amazing Race I can only tape or watch three so Scrubs got cut)
Point Pleasant pretty boring the only character I liked is Judy Kramer
Las Vegas so I can watch 24
Survivor (same old same old the only reality tv I watch now is the great Amazing Race)

Shows that I am getting ready to quit watching:
The Simpsons not funny anymore
7th Heaven not really that good anymore
Alias after last week's crap episode

Sadly I haven't been watching the new Simpsons episodes, but I've been catching the earlier season repeats that are one twice a night.

I have pretty much quit on SNL as well. The PC police bogeymen aren't the problem. A lack of funny material is.

The Simpsons - 4 years ago or so I quit watching the new ones on Sunday nights, I still watch the repeats if I catch them on, and will collect the DVD sets (up to a certain point probably).

SNL - I watched it all the time three or four years ago, but now it's something I'll flip the channel to, watch for a few minutes and then turn it off.

Survivor - Watched every episode of season 1 and 2, own season 1 on DVD (thank you Columbia House for the free dvd set ), but then stopped watching it, however I did watch some of All-Stars (up to where Rudy got voted off, then I was done).

A bunch, but most notably Enterprise. As a long standing scifi geek I'm embarrased to admit it, but its just to freaking boring!

Galactica all the way now baby!

Agree on Enterprise... the fact that it's more "modern" and doesn't fit into the time frame, Star Trek wise.... but the thing that made me switch off was the constant time travel/temporal crap... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot???

What new shows have you dropped already?

I did a major Season Pass cleaning last night. Two episodes seems to be just enough to get a sense of the quality of the show and the direction it's taking.

I deleted several out last night:

Kitchen Confidential
How I Met Your Mother
Out of Practice
Threshold
Bones

Reunion and Killer Instinct both get one more chance before they join the list.

Edit to add: forgot about E-Ring. That lasted about a half-episode.

Dropped the following shows so far:
- E-Ring
- Bones
- Head Cases (Actually Fox was kind enough to do it for me)

Reunion was an easy cut after the second episode.

Bones and How I Met Your Mother are on the bubble.

Bones seems to be a popular choice.

Kitchen Confidential

I haven't watched the 2nd episode of Reunion yet due to it being preempted here in Houston. If it sucks, I'll probably drop that show as well.

War at Home and Loonatics *shudder*

Everything else has been decent enough to warrant watching for the season, so far.
