life as we know it has been canned..
Rumors have been circulating ever since ABC put the show on hiatus back in December that the network was close to killing off the show, but with last week's episode featuring no preview for another episode and no scheduled date for another appearance, it looked like the rumors were true.
An article via Yahoo! News from Reuters found here pretty much confirms what we've feared:
"ABC came in fifth for the night, behind UPN's "WWE SmackDown!" (5.5 million, 1.8/5), with its regular lineup of the canceled freshman drama "Life as We Know It," "Extreme Makeover" and "Primetime Live" yielding an average of 4.8 million viewers and 1.6/4 in the key demo for the night."
There are actually still two episodes left in the season, but it looks like ABC has opted to halt the series before its real conclusion. There's still the possibility that MTV will pick up the remaining episodes.
An unfortunate end to an entertaining show..

Too bad, I was actually enjoying this show.

This was a really great show. A shame more people didn't tune in for it. I really blame the casting of Kelly Osbourne for its demise. Everyone I ask about the show says indicates they never even gave it a chance because they are sick of the Osbournes.

I liked it a lot, but I am not surprised - I just told my wife and she's pissed.
It has to happen at least once a year.

I felt that this steadily declined week to week. I was really impressed with the first episode and that whole freeze time while the guys would think. I also wanted to see a relationship blossom between that kid and his teacher, but when it did, I really didn't care. Like Jeraden said, Kelly Osbourne being in the show detracted from it; many people are just sick and tired of the Osbournes. Still, I wish this show was still on I think it could have gotten better and developed more in another year/season.

i would definitely think the casting of osbourne was a bad decision... i had no interest in the show because of that, but my brother recommended I watch it. and i really like it. hoepfully it can move to MTV or something. they definitely have the timeslots. how many real world re-runs do you need?

This sucks. Since it lasted this long, I figured they would at least give it a full season. A couple years ago, the networks were going crazy cancelling new shows after only a couple airings. So I'm glad we at least got this much of the show and that good shows with low ratings like Veronica Mars and Jack and Bobby are still on the air. I wonder if there's any chance of The Days coming back this summer.

Oh well, I was really starting to like this show more and more after each episode. But, in the end, I knew it was going to be killed off. Ashame they probably won't air the last 2 episodes.

Would MTV actually interrupt their 24 hour reality schedule for a scripted drama? I thought those were as passe as music videos on 'Music Television'.
Sad news, but between Kelly Osborne, local affilitate FCC jitters, and stupid scheduling, this thing didn't have a chance.
So I wonder what ABC will put up against The O.C. and Joey next?

I'm pissed. I thought it was a great show, they did the whole deal with the teacher story which the fcc got all upset about, but that's all over about. That plus the bad time slots was the death of the show. But everybody has already covered that.
2 things:
#1. Jessica Lucas (sue) is such an amazing beauty, she is hot beyond words. I see her as the next rosario dawson.
#2. The show was based on a book. I know they say that on each show, but i've deleted my episodes and it might not air again, so does anybody have the name of the book off hand? I know i can do a quick search and probably find it, but i'd like to bump this thread anyways because of the quality of this show.
Edit: If i got a dollar for every space bar that story needed. I'd be one rich man.

The FCC got mad about the student/teacher thing? WTF?! Maybe the government should be spending its time and money stopping REAL teachers from having sex with their students.
