ugggg.. about 30min in and it's like being in math class and yes please step by step explain how profiler crime stuff works "these guys fallow patterns". Even when every other show/movie and real life crime have already told us all about that. Whole lot of talk talk talk yawn here.. but that's IMO of course.
sooooooooo this is what they thought a football crowd would really go for huh? errrrrrrrrrrrr hope it gets better, whole lot of csi'ish based shows out there already.
ah the rare midshow post from me, being on the west coast by the time I check in over here all the rest of ya have already seen it and broke the whole show down by now..

Eh. It's like a CSI without any twists.
I mean, the big second plot point was all on paper (and, quite frankly, pretty obvious). Ugh.
And not enough Sabrina Lloyd.

Not a bad show........I liked it...Unfortunately, this show was NOT complicated enough. It's like another CSI show. I wanna hear where he derived these equations and more about his degree. (I'm a science-math geek)

I thought it was pretty interesting and from what little I know of math (highest level is calculus in college) I thought it incorporated math pretty well. I'm really glad his formula didn't just magically work and he did have to adjust it for more factors. I really want to know what "math geeks" think of the logic behind the show. Maybe I can accept it better since I'm not in that field. For instance Medical Investigations is right up my alley but the way they go about things is just laughable.
One glaring hole in his logic was the reason why they thought that one girl was lying. Just because it is outside the range of the rest of the points doesn't mean that the data is bad. They are called outlyers. It happens all the time in data crunching. Any little variable can account for them, it doesn't mean she is automatically lying.

I seem to think this show will get boring quickly. Sunday 1-23's show and Friday's show are about predicting where the criminals live/will hit next. I thought he would analyze crime scenes more and develop equations or theories about evidence.
Also-
In the first episode, the math genius said that he cannot predict where/when the killings/rapes are going to occur. But, in the preview to friday's, he accurately predicts where and when a bank robbing occurs. Oh, I know that banks are finite places and murders can happen anywhere, but he also predicts when they occur? I know of not one equation that can predict that.
Nonetheless, a pretty good first show.

After reading the mixed reviews, I wonder if this show is destined to be not nerdy enough to the people who want it to be all math-nerdy, and too nerdy to the people who don't want to think too much, and so will not appeal to either group. I sincerely hope that's not the case... Sabrina Lloyd deserves better!

I don't see how they can keep the stories even somewhat fresh every week.

I can almost hear the pitch... It's CSI crossed with A Beautiful Mind... it's CSI with math!
After a while, all of these crime-solving shows like the various CSIs and Laws and Orders, Cold Case, NCIS... all of it... it just gets kind of old.

Well, I avoid all the CSI-type shows, so this one, while predictable, wasn't overwhelmingly familiar to me.
But yes, damn it, not enough Sabrina Lloyd.
More pics? Of course!

Everyone say it with me now. Ahhhhhhhh.

I enjoyed this show quite a bit. Fun seeing lottery odds written out as 4.1 x 10^7. The part of my brain that still remembers minoring in Math approved.

I liked the premiere episode. For some reason I kept thinking about Good Will Hunting while watching this show (don't ask me why). As others had stated, I just don't know how they can last half of season or a whole season, with this premise.
Nice to see Sabrina Lloyd and she looks even better than before. Also I think that the girl from O.C. (she played Teresa) is in this show, but I could be wrong.

As expected, the "math" angle was a bit silly and not particularly realistic, but I have to admit that dramatically, I thought the show worked very well, and Rob Morrow does an excellent job in the lead role. I just hope they give Sabrina something to do each week, and she isnt just some do-nothing sidekick.

The special premiere of CBS' "Numb3rs" lost much of its football audience, but still won the 10 p.m. hour with a 13.4/21. "Boston Legal" was lurking on ABC with a 10.1/16. NBC's movie was in last.
