Snowmaker 02-19-05 10:52 PM

Watched the second episode tonight. It just made me even sadder that FOX canceled it. :(

Edison 02-23-05 11:00 AM

'In The Dark'.
Spoiler:
When there's a death at the morgue during Tru's birthday party, and the victims identity is obscured by darkness, Tru grows convinced that the victim is one of her friends, while Davis concludes its Carrie who will die.

s02e03 up in multimedia now.

Edison 02-23-05 03:19 PM

Just got done watching episode 3. Not as good as the first two of the season imo, but I did like the way it all tied together in the end. The preview for next week's episode "Last Good Day" looks interesting, seems Jack gets asked for help and the roles are reversed.

Only 3 to go :(

Snowmaker 02-23-05 03:23 PM

Downloaded it last night. Will probably watch it this weekend.

MasterofDVD 02-23-05 10:42 PM

Gonna watch the 3rd tonight. I want to get excited over it but if I can contain myself then I won't be as devastated when the show is over.

nevermind 02-24-05 06:16 AM

I've gotten all 3 episodes so far but haven't watched them yet. The 6th episode isn't going to 'wrap up' the show, is it? It's just going to abruptly stop, correct?

:( :( :(

Snowmaker 02-24-05 07:39 AM

When you go to FOX's FAQ section, all it says is this:

4. Where is "TRU CALLING" - when will the show be back on the air?

ANSWER:
TRU CALLING will return to the schedule with ALL-NEW episodes sometime in 2005!!

rfduncan 02-24-05 09:29 AM

Yeah - to add insult to injury THIS is the crap they are showing tonight instead of Tru Calling:

<a href="http://tv.yahoo.com/tvpdb?d=tvp&id=169253173&cf=0&lineup=us_DITV511&channels=us_WTTG&chspid=166031579&chname=FOX+5&progu tn=1109296800&.intl=us">Stars Without Makeup</a>

What the hell is going ON with the world?!?!?

<a href="http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=411220">DVDTalk thread for that show.</a>

Snowmaker 02-27-05 05:29 PM

OK, for those of you who have seen the first 3 episodes of season 2, I have one question:

Spoiler:
In the 3rd episode the psychiatrist (I forget her name) gave Davis a whole story about her husband drowning in a tub, but her sister-in-law felt that she killed him. Since we found out the the psychiatrist is working with Jack, was this a real story or just a decoy? If it wasn't real, then who was the sister-in-law Davis went to question?

Edison 02-27-05 08:44 PM

Spoiler:
I think the story was true as I think Davis looked at old files to find out more about the case. Otherwise the sister-in-law would have to be part of the hoax also, and it seems that would be overly complicated. Just my 2 cents.

s02e04 is up now "Last Good Day"

ChrisHicks 02-27-05 08:47 PM

Hopefully its not where I've been getting mine. I don't have the link here at work. :(

Slow Hands 02-28-05 07:46 AM

Tru Calling has been canceled for a while now. I'm surprised this thread is still at the top of the heap.

Really?!?!?

psst... Did you read the thread? Six episodes were made for season 2 and are airing in New Zealand right now :)

goofee girl 02-28-05 10:42 AM

After seeing 3 episodes from the second season, I'm even more upset that they chose other shows in place of Tru Calling - namely Point Pleasant where I can't even follow the storyline because the actors all look the same (among many other reasons that I won't even bother going through). What a waste. Season 2 is proving that this series isn't dull and repetetive. I especially like the addition of Jason Priestly (coming from a girl who never saw one ep of 90210) and to return of Tru's father as a baddy.

One question: what really happened to the girl that played Tru's sister? I mean, she's on for the first half of the first season and then leaves. Was it a production decision to cut the sister act or the actor's? I just found it weird that she left and was never referred to again in the show.

Edison 02-28-05 11:27 AM

I don't remember how they explained her out of the show, she was gone about the same time that Jack showed up. Maybe they decided the Jack/Tru story line would lend itself to more episodes, than her sister. Maybe since they already had Harrison for a family connection they decided she didn't work in as well.

I just watched episode 4, and would rank it back up with the first one. I really enjoyed this one as it gave a glimpse into Jack's world, and his feelings on his job.
Spoiler:
Of course Tru has now lost the last two 'souls', the electrician, and now Megan. Things aren't looking good.

I found this info at tvtomes.com

'Twas the Night Before Christmas...Again

# NOTE: FOX canceled Tru Calling in favor of the new supernatural thriller Point Pleasant. Production had already begun on this episode, so FOX let them finish it. This episode was made so FOX would feel forced to air the second season before December, but it didn't work.

So since they got notice the show was cancelled, and this episode wasn't finished yet, they were able to add some closure to the series?

:( only 2 left

Snowmaker 02-28-05 04:30 PM

Damn! It is the same source I get my episodes from that is down. It says they hope to have it back up by today though. :(

Any other good sources?

nevermind 02-28-05 05:08 PM

Try the newsgroups

You don't have to belong to anything.

Do you get a monthly allotment of bandwidth from your ISP for newsgroups? Granted they may have shitty retention, but it's worth a try.

If not, then you have to go the pay route for a news service. Retention is really good with who I use (newshosting.com)

Edge 02-28-05 09:35 PM

I thought this show would get repetitive, but it's been pretty good in the second season too.

Spoiler:
It looks like Tru and Jack are even at 2-2 in season 2 so far.

goofee girl 03-01-05 08:39 AM

Watched episode 4 and was impressed that Jack is finally opening up his inner feelings about his job. The ending was very good, showing the struggle Jack lives with. I wonder what would happen to him if he didn't fulfill the boss' orders? What does Dick Davies hold over Jack?

Only two to go. :(

Yeah, I tried mine through Comcast. Downloaded a couple albums and was already over my monthly limit. It wasn't worth it.

Yeah, I have to say I was wondering
Spoiler:
if he would save the girl or not. It did surprise me that he didn't, I really thought he was going to.
