"It's a different kind of poverty. People choose to be this way."

I would like to say good riddance to tonight's team, but I enjoyed too much rooting against them every week. So at least I'll miss them on that regard.

Ethiopa - There is actually a very fascinating history involving early Christianity and Ethiopia, some even think the Ark of the Covenant resides or at least resided there.

What I believe she was saying is that the situation the people in Ethopia were in seemed to be a LIFESTYLE as opposed to the people in the other African country where there seemed to be nothing else but squalor. It was actually a very astute observation.

BTW...the ethopian airport was NICE! Looked much better than JFK or LaGuardia

Man, I was really moved by all those kids being so excited and such. I don't really know why either.

When the Amazing Racist cooed about the little black boy "I want to take him home with me!" I said to my husband that she probably wanted him to hold up a lantern on her lawn.

I think I am still picking my jaw up off the floor after that comment from Kendra. I never realized people "choose" to be poor, and then later hearing her say "let's take one home". If not for POS and his wife being in the race I was definitely hoping Kendra and Freddy would lose, it is amazing that there are people like her that just don't get it. I am sure she is a great person, but is just clueless when it comes to realizing how "ugly" her thinking is.

And yes it was fun to root against them, but I will definitely not miss him at all. Nice to know that your wife appears to have cut herself somewhat badly and all you can tell her is "mind over matter". In the words of the immortal
Sue Hawk of Survivor season 1 to send off the POS I say "But if I were ever to pass you in this life again, and you were laying there, dying of thirst, I would not give you a drink of water. I'd just let the vultures take you, and do whatever they want with you, with no ill regrets." Victoria at times could be annoying, but it never gives an excuse to a man to treat her the way he did.
And I love the comment by someone else who said that Victoria thought she did have 2 "asses", very nice touch.

Thanks

It looked like it was Christian, since they had crosses, but I was expecting something Hindu. Are they Eastern Orthodox or something?

to further answer your question: Ethiopia's Christian Heritage.

Kendra's ignorance poked through her pretty exterior once again.

Adam continues to nerve the shit out of me. I would like to see him go more than I would Kendra. I like Rebecca somewhat, but it's just not worth it because of her race-mate.

Freddy's finger was nasty. He's a trooper. For putting up w/ that and his prissy old lady.

Not enought Kris this ep.

Oh, have I said how happy I am that The Couple From Hell are finished w/ the Race?

Did it seem Jonathan was on lithium or something during the last portion of the race? Victoria sounds like a stark raving child when she gets flustered. They deserve each other, I'm convinced of it now.

Got home at 9:50, ran upstairs in time to catch TAPOSTNNBN and "Victoriaaaaaaa" be eliminated (side note: what was up with Victoria's face? She looked like she had some skin disease... come to think of it, I don't want to know... ). Haven't watched the whole show yet, but couldn't WAIT to about this week's philimination, and note that this is the FIRST WEEK that I've not voted for them to go... it's like that old thing about it only rains when you don't bring an umbrella, this time they got the boot because I'd given up WISHING for them to be gone!

Gotta watch the tape but I'm too busy

Happy Dance!

On another note, the pronunciation of "Addis Ababa" I got from Ms. Teschmacher has been wrong all these years.

Glad to see them go as well.

From the previews, I would have thought that Victoria would have had her hand cut off or something. She is just as annyong as her husband, IMO. They deserve each other.

So with five teams left, I am guessing that there are three or four episodes left: one non elimination, one to get to the final four, and then a two hour finale episode (or four episodes if the final episode starts with the final three).

I told my wife the same thing .

My favorite line of the show:

Rebecca (when crybaby walks the wrong way during the roadblock): "WHERE IS HE GOING?!?!? Ugh, never send a woman to do a man's job."
