I would have rather seen a Beyonce (real) vs. Beyonce (Maya) catfight.

We need a Muppets SNL. Replace the whole cast.

I liked the Muppet song at the end - I didn't see that coming at all.

I wondered why Beyonce didn't play herself in the Prince skit, or at least do her own impersonation of some other star while Maya played her.

Probably because she would've been more convincing playing herself than DeNiro.

I'm glad I watched until the end... the Muppets were awesome.

Animal holding the keyboard and doing the head-turn thing with Fozzie was classic!

... and has anyone else noticed the lack of involvement by Will Forte the last two episodes? He was only in two skits (The wife swapping one with Farrell, and the mob-talk one this week). I wonder why... he was going so strong at the first part of the season.

Oh, and while I shouldn't have laughed at the Smegeal cartoon, one line made me crack:

"And its wrong that they won't even let Moby marry a guy."

I'd give this episode a big thumbs up. While there were weaknesses (such as anything DeNiro tried to deliver a line), most of it was pretty funny.

Pentagon press briefing - Juvenille, but got me laughing.

Monologue - Touching... "remember, I'm a boy frog."

Womba - Good to see a new one.

Pranksters - Missed the Walken one, but this was kinda funny.

Wedding - Funny, but the payoff was obvious.

The Prince Christmas Special - Not liking Keenan as Starr Jones.

TV Funhouse - Even though my house would have been skipped, you had to laugh at Moby, poor guy.

Trump commercial - 5, 4, 3, 2, Ho!

Weekend Update - Not even Leviticus ( ) could save this one.

Undercover Fed - I hate Horatio.

Christmas with the Cat Lady - Did pay any attention to this one.

Bear City - Yawn.

More muppets - For reason's posted above.

That's a total of 8 's and 5 's... so that's a 61%, which is barely Fresh so I'll give it a .

watching now
I laughed my ass off at the names
but the cue card reading was worse
why is it the bigger the hollywood star the more they read the cards?

The Pranksters sketch was a carbon copy of the Walken one a few years back. That is really unbelievable that they just switch a little bit and run the same sketch with the same jokes. Please overhaul the writing staff or get rid of Lorne, they need to shake something up. Or cancel this show before it becomes even more of a trainwreck. WU is the only thing that is pretty decent every week, and Leviticus screwed that up, with the repeating the same joke again and again. SNL needs to learn to stop beating the dead horse and to shorten up their sketches because I can rarely get through a full one nowadays.

Didn't DeNiro do the exact same opening skit with different names on some previous SNL? I specifically remembering saving it on the TiVo for a friend of mine and she remembers it as well.

I'm surprised people thought TV Funhouse was funny? It seemed more like a political/philosophical rant than actual comedy to me. *shrug*

I loved the Muppets. Kermit was hilarious when he was dancing. Very nice touch!

I loved the way he got his hat swinging around and around slowly at first and then it sped up rather quickly. Very fun!

Maybe De Niro is not the best host but i enjoy watching him as a performer.

I would rather see him than some boring politician (Gore, McCain, or Sharpton).

I thought the internet casino sketch was hilarious

" You know the guys around the block Rocky Balboa. Mario Bros, Vinny Testaverde"

and when he told the story from Godfather 2 when Michael Corleone meets the girl from Sicily.

Is De Niro shy or a cranky old curmedgeon? he seemed to brush off the entire crew during the ending credits?

I can see the Horatio Sanz/Muppets skit being included in future xmas specias or best of shows.

I am not a big fan of Destiny's Child but they should have done the lose my breath song or whatever it is called.

what's really bad about that part was that it's possible to bash bush but be funny about it so that bush supporters will laugh, but they failed to do that

drudge had an article about it, but I can't get his site to load

I'd guess he's probably a little on the shy side. I also noticed he rarely does interviews, especially on the late night shows, and when he does he usually seems uncomfortable and not all that talkative. And he barely said two words in the Meet the Parents commentary.

I don't really care that he read off the cue cards. He's still one of my favorite actors ever. I guess it's like Michael Jordan sucking not being all that great at baseball. He may have failed in a way, but at least he gave it an effort, and then went back to doing what he does best. De Niro needs a good movie. Meet the Fockers looks like a less funny, trying-too-hard version of the first one.

I couldn't possibly be the first one to notice this mistake, but I still feel compelled to correct you. Michael marries Apollonia during the first Godfather, of course. I also thought this was a funny sketch, but I'm up for any time De Niro plays a mobster.

Tom Ridge (Darrell Hammond): Good afternoon! Before we begin today's briefing, I wish to announce that, on the basis of change in the nature of Al-Queda chatter, we are changing the current threat level to Magenta. Let me repeat: the threat level is now.. Magenta. What is Magenta? It's a darker maroon. It's not quite an ox blood. It's more plum color than.. say.. a crimson. How serious is it? [ sighs ] I honestly don't have an answer for that. We'll try to have that for you by early in the week. In any case, I'd like to introduce Craig Fenson, the new senior spokesman for the office of Homeland Security, and he'll be happy to take your questions.

Craig Fenson (Robert Deniro): Good afternoon. In the past few weeks, through our national hotline, we have collected hundreds of names of suspected terrorists, and I'm proud to say that most of the calls have come from high school and college students nationwide. In fact, we received over 475 calls alone regarding this man: M'Balz Es-Hari. We also received information on such nefarious terrorists such as Graabir Boubi, and Haid D'Salaami and.. let this be a message to you, Haid D'Salaami: we will not play your dangerous games We are also currently searching for a man we believe to be a Al Queda leutinant: Hous Bin Pharteen, his cousin I-Bin Pharteen, and their close companion I-Zheet M'Drurz. Question over there?

Reporter #1: Is there a way to identify Hous Bin Pharteen?

Craig Fenson: Ah.. our operatives have picked up his scent. Also, according to our intelligence, he is targeting gas refineries, fertilizer plants, and, oddly enough, baked bean canneries. He is a silent, but deadly killer.

Reporter #2: What can you tell us about I-Zheet M'Drurz?

Craig Fenson: We're told that, when he was fleeing the scene of his last attack, he left skidmarks. He is extremely dangerous. Our sources say that he is planning on attacking the New York City sewer system with what we believe it is to be a dirty bomb.

Reporter #3: Do you have any other names you're willing to release?

Craig Fenson: Yes! Please call our hotline at once if you have any information on the following men: Shaif Hirboush.. Al-Suq Akweer.. Mustaf Herod Apyur Poupr. I hope I got that right! Awan Afuqya.. Yul Strokheet Al-Wauch.. Apul Madeek - who we believe will be targeting adult bookstores sometime in the near future. And this man, the notorious Yuliqa M'Diq, A.K.A. Uwana M'Diq, A.K.A. Usuqa M'Diq. Uh.. thank you, that is all, and, "Live, from New York, it's Saturday Night!"

I gotta say, those Trump sketchs with Hammond and Seth Myers are damn funny. Halloween was funnier, but this was short and sweet.

"Flaflaflaflaflafla."
"Here's what I'm gonna do..."

Also, The Muppets nearly made me cry with happiness. Please bring them back!

Wouldn't a "rant" be one-sided? The cartoon made fun of both sides.

I thought it was hilarious, even the digs at liberals. How come liberals can laugh at themselves, but Bush supporters get so offended at everything?

You are correct. It was Godfather 1. Probably typing too fast to correct it.

Amy Poehler was in only one sketch not including WU I think which sucked.

If anyone cares she is married to one of the cast members from Arrested Development
