Good to see Mira Furlan(Delenn from B5) again

Just a nitpick, but the Iraqi people spoke way too much English. Shouldn't they have had all that subtitled?

I didn't recognize her at first with all that hair in her face, but soon I thought "Where do I know that voice from?" after that it came to me soon enough. |
Jeez, poor Jack can't even play a round of golf without Kate the nympho on his jock. I'm surprised she doesn't leave a little trail of moisture wherever she goes, like a snail.

Only this show could introduce a character that knows the whole history of the island and leave you with more questions than answers.
I cant believe that I'm watching this show real time...its so freaking good, I feel like I bought a DVD box set of a show that was on years ago...BBC possibly, Have the networks actually given us a show this freaking good?!? |

We also got introduced to 2 new characters.
We have ethan..the guy with the rash or whatever..I recognize the actor! Then we have locke's new buddy..the guy that can make traps or whatever. The first guy got a good amount of screen time and speech time..the 2nd guy...we find out what he does.. (he is a pseudo-hunter) And Danielle..damn..you could tell she wanted to knock boots with Sayid. |
Alias crossover?
so, is Danille Rosseau a SD-6 agent. from the previews, I was thinking JJ might have something up his sleeve.

The Iraqi people speaking English didn't bother me at all. I like The Hunt for Red October technique. It's good for extended scenes like that so you can actually watch the actors when they speak. What I didn't get was why the French woman who has been there alone for 16 years, left the distress call only in French, yet could speak perfect English. My only guess is that they must've written the scene with her and Sayid later and decided it would be better if they could actually communicate. Then again this show is detailed enough maybe they'll come up with a reason for it later. She wished she could speak English so the dinosaur taught her. |
pretty good episode. what the hell was that cable running from the water? was the electricity or just like a rail cable. I guess that other plane that crashed in an earlier episode was what se was on.

Was anybody else thinking about the episode of Gilligan's Island where the telephone line washed onshore or was it just me?

Excellent episode. This show has yet to dissapoint me.
I wasn't interested in the character of Sayid and felt that Abrams and company added him for the sake of current news (being an Iraqui and Republican guard) but after we got a glimpse of his story this episode, I had to say that I was dead wrong. They finally showed the French woman (Danielle) and as somebody indicated, they gave us more questions than answers: what's the black rock? who are "they"? who took "Alex"? why did Robert turned on her? What was the sickness he had? What are the "voices" in the jungle? I especially like her telling Sayid that when he go back to his group, to "watch them closely". Thank you for the little foreshadowing Mr. Abrams. Also in this episode, we get to see a little bit of things to come like Locke getting a "follower" or a "pseudo hunter" as he called himself, the tension between father and son and the road to redemption for Sawyer. Plus excellent idea by Hurley with the golf. Also I can't believe that nobody mentioned the shot of Shannon sunbathing with her bikini on. More of that please  |

Loved the golf - the show and island needed a diversion like that. |

I understand it all now. You see the shadows are using this a training ground to wage war on the humans in the future. Daleen went back in time to stop them but went insane instead. Her trip through time caused a doorway to open into the past allowing a hobbit to come to our time. The hobbit gets hooked on drug but his band is way bigger than the band that plays for the vampire lestat. And now it is a race through time as Captain Kurt tries to saves the whales, no not the big fat guy.

I really like the new dynamic, with the addition of Danielle and her whole bizarre backstory.
Though I'm surprised that JJ has tipped his hand so soon with regard to revealing the source of the transmission, I'm still amazed at how many, many more questions were raised than answered. Nice one! Man, I love this show... The only downsides: not enough Kate  not enough Clare  having to wait 2 weeks for the next ep  |

well, they didn't actually reveal the source of the transmission, just the woman who recorded it. she said that it was being broadcast from somewhere else.
count me in as someone else who liked the non-subtitle technique. i thought it was pretty obvious what they were doing. as for alex... maybe Spoiler:
overall, good episode... i liked the golf bit, and the reactions of everyone, basically "WTF? they're playing golf?!" and nice to see sawyer start to slowly come around to everyone else. worst thing about this show... 2 weeks til the next episode? More questions were brought up. Along with Alex, what kind of scientists were they? could they be responsible for the animals on the island? if there's one question this episode answered, it's this: We now know from her maps that it actually is an island... so that does away with the Magiwish Peninsula theorists... |
