WNYW dropped the volume dramatically on the 'F' also. Caught me by surprise both because it seemed out of character and because of the 'edit'.

So okay, now we're down to Fox censoring individual letters of the alphabet on a ground-breaking TV show.

"Hey, it's only one letter, for Pete's sake! BFD!! And besides, it was during Family Hour! You can't say the letter "F" until an hour later!!"

Of course, by that time, Fox is happy to show whipped creamed being licked off strippers' bodies on "Married By America." Oops, that may cost them nearly $1.2 million in fines from the FCC. No wonder the sixth letter of the alphabet is verboten between 8 and 9pm !! (7 and 8pm Central)

They didn't change it here in Tampa. She said BFD. Weird how some stations are so touchy.

The real question is: will the $100,000 kitchen actually last beyond this episode? Or will it go back to the classic one?

yeah. I was wondering the same thing. I was expecting the contractors to come back and rip the whole thing out at the end of the show - so that the old kitchen would be back. That and the show jumped forward 2 years.

I thought about that as well ... especially since I Tivo'd the show and it cut off the end of the episode.

If you are not recording Arrested Development immediately following the Simpsons, you deserve it.

The two years thing seemed a little extreme. Does that mean Bart and Milhouse were living the Playdude lifestyle for that long?

I think it was a throwaway joke, since obviously the kids didn't age during that time. You see, contractors always underestimate how long a project will take. Ho ho ho.

What!?! Next you'll tell me that next time we see Apu, he'll be back behind the counter of the Kwik-E-Mart with no explanation!

I liked how Homer was inexplicably reading "The New Delhi Times."

I think the bigger issue is that, once again, they have censored Thomas Pynchon by putting a bag over his head.

Come on, wouldn't you love to see the Simpsons animators take a crack at this mug?

My favorite line: Marge, upon seeing the modern kitchen in the open house -

"When Virginia Woolf wrote that every women should have a room of one's own she must have meant the kitchen."

Being a nerd engaged to a woman with a literature degree, this cracked me up.

The Pynchon reference was great, too.

I doubt creativity had anything to do with it, any more than it was a creative decision by some ABC affiliates to not air "Saving Private Ryan."

Fear was the motivating factor, not creativity.

Virginia Woolf is one of my favorite authors, and that had me rolling.

Anyone know what Miles Davis song Bart and Millhouse were playing? I recognize it but I can't remember the name.

Not sure about the song, but I believe the album they were listening to was The Birth of the Cool.
