I enjoyed this episode
Sad to see Alice go, she looked hot out on her date. I guess that explains why Amy Adams wasn't in the opening credits.
Anytime Sarah Lancaster gets more screentime it's a good thing

DVD Talk Hero
"Malucci from ER" shows up as the son of a childhood friend Tommy's, and he's pretty much an inept scam artist, who gets caught cheating twice on the floor, and even steal prescription pads from Billy's office when Alice brings him up to give him some pain relief for his "bad" back. The prescriptions get sold to junkies looking for oxycontin, and the police/DEA get involved. Billy takes the heat for the theft of the pads, and saves Alice from a black mark on her record. Alice decides that she can work at the office because of her feelings for Billy. Will we see Alice again?
Veronica's dad gets drunk at Tommy's casino, and Billy finally convinces Veronica to detox her dad after an unsuccessful attempt to deliver him to a detox center. Billy has to go through the process of detox, and the dad sloughs off much of the help given by Billy and Veronica, and Veronica finally lets her dad live his life, she finally decided to stop enabling him and show him some tough love.
Tommy confronts "Malucci" about his actions (stealing the pad, etc), he denies them, so later Tommy gets him arrested for his criminal actions.
I just have no idea how they can continue to have Veronica's personal life bleed into this show because it just doesn't seem realistic for the head cheese to have to deal with "lowly" card dealer's problems.
Billy just couldn't be who Alice wanted him to be at this time. Alice is also pretty inflexible, so she's not blameless in this mess of a failed relationship.
