Episode Title: "House of the Rising Sun"

Spoiler:
Walt and the others are shocked when Michael is brutally beaten, but only the non-English-speaking Jin and Sun know the truth behind the attack. Meanwhile Kate, Jack, Sawyer and Sayid argue about where the survivors should camp — on the beach, where they're more likely to be seen, or in a remote inland valley where fresh water abounds; and Locke discovers Charlie's secret.

Before you complain about the subject of this weeks picture, I took it from ABCs main page as I did two weeks ago. :p

Geofferson 10-27-04 08:33 AM

Can't wait!

Feneant 10-27-04 08:36 AM

Looks better than last week, my only problem is the commercial makes it look like they want to cram too much in the episode.

cdoug57 10-27-04 08:41 AM

Eagerly awaiting this one.

zuckuss 10-27-04 09:09 AM

By far, the best show on TV.

Groucho 10-27-04 09:12 AM

My wife came up with an interesting theory...perhaps the island grants the wishes of anybody who is on it? Think about it.

Or perhaps they all died on the crash, and they are in purgatory (the "dead" passengers have passed on to heaven or hell).

What is the monster? My guess is a t-rex. Or maybe Zombie Dad when he gets angry?

Chew 10-27-04 09:15 AM

Get it out of the way early, eh Groucho?

kakihara1 10-27-04 09:16 AM

I read on TV tome that this episodes running time is 61 minutes which would make it 1 1/2 hours tv time, hope this is true.

I think what that really means is: ABC has switched the running time from the normal 60 minutes to 61 minutes. The last few weeks have ended after the hour and they're just reflecting that (starting last week, I believe). So, that 90 minute thing doesn't sound quite right.

Get a divorce already.

Mazje 10-27-04 11:14 AM

Didn't Penny Arcade do a strip about Lost?

ChrisHicks 10-27-04 11:17 AM

I'm going to predict the whole thing is a dream. no one is dead. there is no t-rex. there is no island. the day the show ends will be the day whoever is dreaming will wake up. ;)

Mazje 10-27-04 11:19 AM

Can you imagine how bad that would suck if it was all a dream? I mean, imagine the outcry. Especially after, say, five seasons or so.

St. Elsewere reference?

Mazje 10-27-04 11:28 AM

Not intentionally, but I did think about that after I posted. How long did St. Elsewhere last, anyway?

Also, say it with me: "It's a Sasquatch on the island. A Sasquatch!"

Six seasons of Tommy Westphall's imagination.

My theory is that while they were flying over the wish island, Jack wished his dad could turn into a T-Rex. It happened, and this caused the plane to break up and crash. Then the T-Rex ate of all of them, and now they're in Purgatory, and now Satan is granting their wishes in order to get their souls like in the story of Faust. Think about it, it all fits!

Yeah I think you are right. Their schedule doesn't reflect the 90 minute thing, I'm an idiot

Didn't that old show "Dallas" end as a big dream?? I think people basically get super pissed when they don't have the imagination to actually draw a show to a nice neat tied up ending......."well I can't think of anything else, why not just make it all someones 5 year long dream? the fans will love it!" That's just plain stupid.

Trelach24 10-27-04 12:55 PM

It would be pretty funny to end a popular show as a dream just to piss people off.

I love stuff like that.

SmackDaddy 10-27-04 01:46 PM

Well the ending for Newhart worked...

Abelkems 10-27-04 02:15 PM

Wasn't the last season of "Rosanne" a dream?

Charlie Goose 10-27-04 02:27 PM

Didn't somebody Dream of Jeannie one time?

kakihara1 10-27-04 02:28 PM

Dude yeah, your right! Roseanne was dreaming; everything after Dan's heart attack was just a dream. Amazing that I even know that but someone was just telling me about it like a week ago.

Meatpants 10-27-04 02:32 PM

Wasn't Cartman's mom also his dad? I remember that really pissed people off.

Mazje 10-27-04 02:41 PM

I thought the last season of Roseanne was more of her writing a happy ending to her family than a dream. But I'm not sure. Also, Newhart was all a dream, but it was hilarious. That would be the one time I think "it was all a dream" actually worked and wasn't a cop-out.

Also, isn't this thread about "Lost?" And how the island is filled with Sasquatches?

joltaddict 10-27-04 03:34 PM

Wow. Just when you thought the Lost threads couldnt get any worse.

Abelkems 10-27-04 03:43 PM

The island is really inhabited by Bob Denver with rabies

It's actually a peninsula. The Sasquatches live in a city a few miles inland.

Snowmaker 10-27-04 04:08 PM

The episode hasn't even aired yet and we're already on page 2 of this thread??

shoppingbear 10-27-04 04:12 PM

Set your default to 40 posts per page, and it's only page one! :D

Get your TiVos ready, and I want to put on call those who can post screencaps quickly (very minor spoiler):

Spoiler:
Kate strips down to her bra tonight trying to escape for a swarm of bees.

I want a screencap within 5 minutes after the show ends.

That is all.

I don't know why that person doing that would help that person do what she wanted to do... but I'm all for it. My screencaps will take a few more days, but they'll be hi-res!

movieking 10-27-04 07:48 PM

There wasn't really a clean picture of her, and least that I saw (and I watched very carefully). Hopefully someone will prove me wrong.

B.A. 10-27-04 08:06 PM

How many different ways can I say "I love this show."?

Abelkems 10-27-04 08:07 PM

I felt this was the weakest episode so far. It looks like next week will be good, though.

treszoks 10-27-04 08:07 PM

This show should really be more than an hour long;)

movieking 10-27-04 08:10 PM

For those of you who saw the preview for next week:

Spoiler:
Who do you think they are talking about possibly being dead? If I recall some other spoilers, a main character is going to die soon. I think that it might be Locke. He seems to have a sense of calm over him, and to me, it wouldn't shock me if they killed him off (I would hate this, as he is a great character).

Gil Jawetz 10-27-04 08:15 PM

Tonight's episode was... wow.

Yeah, I felt they were playing the Korean drama a bit too much. But good that they finally got some character development.

Liked the guitar and ax bit. :)
