They will become over-sensitive to the sunlight and only be able to come out of their dark caves at night at which time they will prey on the defenseless Eloi. Might I also add that if we explore enough caves, we might eventually find pylons? And how, exactly, are the beach dwellers going to ward off the Sleestaks?
Also, who thinks Locke is going to die before he reveals whatever it is he saw to the other survivors? |
ok, i want to figure out what happened in this episode with respect to Sun.
Did she and her husband run away from her fathers business to start a new life? Or, did she try to run away and was caught by her husband? Or, did she pass on the chance and later in life (before this flight) saw that it was 11:15 and it reminded her of her missed chance? Or, did she wish she was on a island that granted wishes and had polar bears and it came true? next week episode isnt going to be on here because of a basketball game. sucko! |
Originally posted by Verbal Gorilla I The only reason I can see is that based on her father's business, she probably had 24/7 security in Korea. This idea is strenghten by the line, "They'll assumes you were kidnapped". |

I was under the impression they were only rerunning them during the World Series. Now that it's over...they may stop this practice (I hope not, since it's a great way to catch up if you miss it). So be warned.

Jin and Sun were going from Korea to L.A. We don't know why, and it's probably not important. Sun was going to take the opportunity to run away. She hooked up with a group that would help her escape, took some classes to learn English, and met with her contact, who disguised herself as Sun's interior decorator. The plan was for Sun to make a break for it at the Sydney Airport at 11:15. But Sun chickened out when the time came, in part due to her memories of what a nice guy Jin had been when he was just a waiter. So she and Jin got on the plane to L.A. and wound up on the Island of Magical Wishing Robot Dinosaur Polar Bears. The airport announcement about the flight to Singapore was just an airport announcement. Jack had just finished at the ticket counter and Jin and Sun were still waiting in line; the fact that Oceania Airlines had a flight to Singapore preparing for departure had nothing to do with their flight to Los Angeles. |

Thanks for the recap JasonF. i just wasnt sure what went on between the interior decorator scene and the airport scene.
I bet the call for the flight to singapore was for the polar bears and t-rex, thats why their plane crashed on the other side of the island and why their pissed. |
Originally posted by LorenzoL Can anybody give me a recap of next week episode in the spoiler tags based on the promo? Excellent recap on Jin and Sun, JasonF. Thanks.

My initial suspicions of the Korean couple was that they got together through an arranged marriage.
However after watching this episode, I was shocked to see that they were actually in love with each other when they met. Being that Jin was of a lower social status than Sun, he basically sold his "soul" to the devil (in a way) in order to get together with her. In Korean society, social status and standing is very relevant still in order to get the consent of the parents for the union. They don't look too kindly of a person with lower social status (especially if it's a guy) to ask permission for marriage. |

Working for her criminal father corrupted him from the nice waiter who gave her a flower to the evil gangster who came home with blood on his shirt. The passage of time was indicated by the growth of the puppy into a full grown dog, and the cruelty of Jin was showcased by his angry command to Sun that she get the dog away from him. Originally posted by LorenzoL JasonF, I agree with you in everything that you have indicated above with the exception that I'm still not 100% sure that Jin's father is in the mob. That and well the blood all over him and the tough guy persona Jin now has. |

My question is this: How many people have read in advance what these episodes are about, then posted on this board as "speculations?" I have seen quite a few good "guesses" regarding the plot twists on this show. I like reading the bull$#!t conversations on this forum regarding this show, but do not like knowing what happens on this show before it does. (e.g. wife speaking english, camps splitting up into two groups, Sun thinking of leaving husband......etc.)

She hooked up with a group that would help her escape, took some classes to learn English ... I'm not totally convinced that she was horribly afraid of him, as much as she couldn't live with someone who was involved with the things her father was involved in. Plus, it was that whole "you're not the man I married" thing. I'm more confused than ever about where the flight was going to AND from... it seemed like the gate lady had an Australian accent, plus logical that Jack would take the body on a direct flight from where his father died (Sydney), so I'm going with the previous statements that they were leaving Sydney... but in that case, that's hardly on the way from Korea to America... is it? With all the business done, there must be MUCH more direct flights from Korea to America, but if they were stopping in Sydney, how is it they arranged for Sun to "escape"? How would that be arranged that far away? Oy vey, I'm so CONFUSED... ;) Originally posted by DaveNinja I bet the call for the flight to singapore was for the polar bears and t-rex, thats why their plane crashed on the other side of the island and why their pissed. |

Lost - Sat., 11/6, 9:00-10:00pm AND Sun., 11/7, 4:00-5:00pm they showed a web page for info on "Rescheduled Due to Kings Basketball on News10" but it was only on the normal broadcast, not the HDtv feed.. http://www.kxtv10.com/program/kings-reskeds.htm or course the rest of ya not in the sacramento area don't care at all about this :) as for the ep.. Pretty good and while not as big a moment flash back wise as some of the other characters, I was sort of surprised by the back story of Jin and Sun. Oh and as far as the cave goes, part of me is just thinking it's a cheap way to cut down on filming costs.. Ya know, make a stage like location to film in Vs on the beach where weather, light etc can be an issue.. Oh but a cave as is just always, well, a cave.. ya know what I mean.. |

As for how they arranged for Sun to escape, whatever organization that was obviously has connections in Australia (it makes sense that they'd want to get the people they help out of Korea, so why not Australia?). |

Originally posted by JasonF The flight was definitely a Sydney-to-L.A. flight. The flight across the Pacific is a long one and there are relatively few airports thta can accomodate the planes that make that crossing, so it makes sense that you'd fly from Korea to Sydney, then connect for the crossover. Or maybe Jin had business in Sydney and L.A., so they went to Sydney first, then L.A. In the real world, there are definitely flights from Seoul to Chicago, Detroit, New York. From Sydney, reaching LA is about the limit. From East Coast, to get to Australia, you either go to LA, then direct, or fly to a connection airport like Narita (Tokyo) or to Seoul and then fly to Australia. |

I've flown to Korea from New York. Going to Korea, planes make a stop over (they hug the land - up over Alaska and down over Russia). However, coming to America, they don't need to stop. My flight went from Seoul all the way to New York City with no stops. The plane went right across the ocean. Since LA is 3000 miles closer than NYC, there is definatly planes that can make that trip. Austraila is a big detour out of the way if you only wanted to go from Korea to America.
They should have had a couple extra lines in last nights episode to clarify why they were going to Sydney and then to LA. |
