I thought the last season of Roseanne was more of her writing a happy ending to her family than a dream. But I'm not sure. Also, Newhart was all a dream, but it was hilarious. That would be the one time I think "it was all a dream" actually worked and wasn't a cop-out.

Also, isn't this thread about "Lost?" And how the island is filled with Sasquatches?

joltaddict 10-27-04 03:34 PM

Wow. Just when you thought the Lost threads couldnt get any worse.

Abelkems 10-27-04 03:43 PM

The island is really inhabited by Bob Denver with rabies

It's actually a peninsula. The Sasquatches live in a city a few miles inland.

Snowmaker 10-27-04 04:08 PM

The episode hasn't even aired yet and we're already on page 2 of this thread??

shoppingbear 10-27-04 04:12 PM

Set your default to 40 posts per page, and it's only page one! :D

Get your TiVos ready, and I want to put on call those who can post screencaps quickly (very minor spoiler):

Spoiler:
Kate strips down to her bra tonight trying to escape for a swarm of bees.

I want a screencap within 5 minutes after the show ends.

That is all.

I don't know why that person doing that would help that person do what she wanted to do... but I'm all for it. My screencaps will take a few more days, but they'll be hi-res!

There wasn't really a clean picture of her, and least that I saw (and I watched very carefully). Hopefully someone will prove me wrong.

How many different ways can I say "I love this show."?

Abelkems 10-27-04 08:07 PM

I felt this was the weakest episode so far. It looks like next week will be good, though.

treszoks 10-27-04 08:07 PM

This show should really be more than an hour long;)

movieking 10-27-04 08:10 PM

For those of you who saw the preview for next week:

Spoiler:
Who do you think they are talking about possibly being dead? If I recall some other spoilers, a main character is going to die soon. I think that it might be Locke. He seems to have a sense of calm over him, and to me, it wouldn't shock me if they killed him off (I would hate this, as he is a great character).

Gil Jawetz 10-27-04 08:15 PM

Tonight's episode was... wow.

Yeah, I felt they were playing the Korean drama a bit too much. But good that they finally got some character development.

Liked the guitar and ax bit. :)

Joem 10-27-04 08:26 PM

Another good episode. :)

Here's my question: Why do they have to split up? Can't they make 8 hour rotating "beach signal fire" duty with crews of a few people, and the rest stay at the cave? I mean, it's not like Kate and the gang aren't going to have to go to the caves anyway for fresh water everyday.

The episode has already aired! No spoiler tags necessary. - Static

Plot development.

I liked this episode and the way it helped freshed out the Korean couple and their relationship.

LorenzoL 10-27-04 08:33 PM

Can anybody give me a recap of next week episode in the spoiler tags based on the promo?

Here in Canada, they did not show the promo for next week since they were advertising a new time on Monday at 8pm. Made it sound like they were going to be repeats but I'm not 100% sure.

That would be too easy. This way they can form two tribes and have "Lord of the Flies" the series. But hopefully it won't turn into that.

It's hard to imagine..in a life and death situation ...they let pettiness play a part.

johnglass 10-27-04 09:31 PM

No mention of the coffin, which should have been there in plain sight. I guess they're dropping that sub-plot, leaving us guessing...

I have a feeling that all will be revealed in due time (ABC, please don't cancel the show!).
Spoiler:
Each character is going to have more than one flashback episode. We've just started peeling back the onion on some of these people.

Regarding the survivors splitting and J.J. Abrams saying "everything has a meaning"... do you think this relates back to Locke's backgammon monologue in episode 1? "Two sides... one is light... one is dark." The "light" side could be the survivors on the beach (exposed to the sunlight), and the "dark" side could be the survivors in the caves. Whether this means Locke knows more than he's letting on or if this was just foreshadowing, or if I'm completely wrong, who knows.

If you want to get really into it, when Jack opened that pouch off the dead body, wasn't it one white stone and one black stone?

Is JJ going crazy with symbolism?

Jackskeleton 10-27-04 10:40 PM

The beach has done wonders for us so far. The level of terrorist threats from wild boar have been down and immigrants are not a threat anymore with the use of handcuffs. The Caves want you to believe that they are safer. Looking at their record, they held dead bodies. Can it really be trusted? It wants you to believe that it can save you but with it's record of bee stings and thrown around luggage can you really believe it's with all its flip flop?
