Because they risked cannibalizing their tribe, which they did because they kept losing immunity challenges with less capable people who fear the stronger guys in terms of individual immunity later in the game.

Why didn't they split them up more evenly (3 guys on each team)? Was that Scout's fault, or was that they way Jeff presented it to them?
No way Julie is leaving before Twila on that tribe...

Scout got to the divide the tribes any way she wanted. Then Sarge got to pick which tribe he wanted.

"Immunity Reward" = boring commercial. Pringles was even the next commercial after the break. I just think it's funny how people say "It's been ELEVEN WHOLE DAYS and I'm dying out here. These chemical potato chips are like PURE GOLD." HAHA..........

I liked how the labels on the beer bottles had been removed. If you're not going to pony up the dough like Mr. Pringles then you can take your product placement and stuff it.

I also gotta agree with you on the Pringles/Beer reward. Pringles are soo bad for you it's not even funny. At least they'll fatten the contestants up.
Also, I'm a rarity, but I actually can't stand beer so I'd rather NOT win that reward challenge. In regards to that challenge, when Chris dropped that marker, I was laughing my butt off, but then he surprisingly redeemed himself by grapping that last marker.

I'd do her like they do on the Discovery Channel...

Ami is hot.
Scout's team is weak. They are going to loose all of the remaining challenges until the merge.
The way jeff broke them up wasn't fair. Sarge had the choice of going on a team with 2 guys (Rory & Bubba) or going on a team with 3 guys (John, Chri & Chad). That was a no brainer.
The season is by far the worst. The challenges have been lame and all of the good people (except Mia) have been voted off.
Bring on the Amazing Race !

Ah, that's why... I forgot that Sarge was picking, which made one team have four guys and the other one have two. That's why they couldn't split them up evenly. They really should've tried harder to make the teams have three guys each, which would have made it that much more interesting. As it is, unless another merge comes soon, either Rory or Twila (or Julie, though I don't see her going before Twila if the previews are any indication) are off next week.
My wife and I are with you, Dabaomb, in that neither or us really enjoy beer all that much, and my wife was saying that she wouldn't really want to win that challenge. Of course, we're not on an island or anything...

Agree with this sentiment. Since the start of this season I have thought that Ami was quite nice.
However, I am also coming around more to B.A.'s viewpoint on Julie. She is very good looking. I look forward to next week's episode.

As for the show, I too feel this is one of the most boring seasons yet. The lack of any footage simply showing the survivors on the island, and not just the challenges and the rewards, is greatly contributing to this. Who knows, maybe some of these people really aren't all that bad, we just never see them.

Ami's boobs don't look that great in her Playboy photos from 1996 (from any angle besides straight-on), but perhaps they've "settled" in the 8 years between then and now, and the bikini top helps in reining them in.

The men would have been smart to throw the immunity challenge. Then they control things. They vote off one of the women. AND they protect the guys on the other tribe. It is obvious that at this point in the game, nobody is tossing aside the gender alliances.
They could have thrown the next challenge too for the same reason.
If they merged then, it would be 6 men and 5 women. It would be a done deal.
Heck, they could throw a 3rd challenge and vote off John K.
That would leave them with Lopevi having Chad, Chris, and Sarge. Yasur would still have Rory and Bubba. 5 men.
They would have voted off Julie and Twila, leaving Ami, Eliza, Leann, Lisa, and Scout. 5 women.
So 5 vs 5. Not bad odds.
As it is, the stronger men's tribe Lopevi wins... and so one of their allies is voted off. Rory is next.
What they seem to be missing is, if they win two immunity challenges, both ROry and Bubba are gone, leaving 4 men vs 7 women. And so THAT is a done deal.
These guys are not bright.

However, the girl's side has never been unified. If the men can get to the merge with Eliza and Julie still left, I think they are in good shape. Why wouldn't one of those two women take their chances with some of the men instead of with the group of women who they know were going to vote them off? Maybe there will even be three factions instead of just two? Or maybe I am being to hopeful?
