Survivor Vanuatu 10/14/04

According to last weeks previews the tribes will be mixed up this week.
I hope this will get things more interesting.

Now at least the challenges will get physical.
No more balancing beam and puzzles.

I don't know who to root for. I was rooting for Brady but he got voted out last week.
Julie is hot and is keeping under the radar. She might go far.

Jim 10-13-04 02:55 PM

I don't think they're merging yet, it looked to me like they are just getting reshuffled. Was it more definitive about merging than that?

You're right Jim. That's what I meant.
The teams are getting mixed up.

Good break up the fat 5 and vote every single one of the losers off. Go John, Julie, and Ami!

Vonner 10-13-04 05:43 PM

I think it's even less mixing than you think. From the looks of the latest commercial it leads me to believe that
Spoiler:
each tribe sends one member over to the other tribe as a "tribe chief". Then those two people join the opposite tribes. Those two being Rory from the Men, and Twila from the Women.

It might make it more interesting for some people, but not too much I'm afraid.

fujishig 10-13-04 06:25 PM

Julie's keeping under the radar, but she's not in any (visible) alliance yet, and looks to be going soon, along with Eliza, unless things get mixed up a lot. If the tribes do merge, Eliza and Julie better turn on the charm for the men...

Doesn't it say in the preview
Spoiler:
"drop your buffs"?
Or was I just imagining things?

It does say that, but
Spoiler:
he could be talking to only the two tribe chief's.

TwineTime 10-14-04 05:14 AM

Spoiler:
Vonner is wrong. This is a tribal swap we're looking at here. 4 women and 3 men on one tribe. Even split on the other.

Tommy_Harn 10-14-04 07:26 AM

Hey Probst! We're still waiting for somebody to get burned . . .

Vonner 10-14-04 09:27 AM

TwineTime, I hope your right and I'm wrong because what you said would make it a lot better.

SunMonkey 10-14-04 10:57 AM

Go volcano!

Tommy Ceez 10-14-04 03:41 PM

If they do a full drop your buffs swap...does this mean that the 'Fat Five' strategy actually worked?

BTW...It would kill the franchise if one of the Fat Five won, because the uber boring strategy of voting out good players for absolutly NO REASON would become the rule on futuer survivors, not the exception.

Cusm 10-14-04 04:16 PM

Until the fat 5 looses too many challenges and there is not one of them that can make it to the jury, then others will see what a bad strategy it was. It is good to get the strong off pre-merge, but not right off the back, you have to use them first to win immunities and get the lead in the game. Morans!

Tommy Ceez 10-14-04 04:58 PM

But if the men and women mix into two new tribes, the men are valuable...or do you think Eliza will catch her own fish?

Vonner 10-14-04 06:06 PM

Well, the fish might jump out of the water and into her mouth on their own just to shut her up.

It wasn't for no reason. They're still there, right? That was their reason.

:(

TruGator 10-14-04 07:30 PM

I missed the first 30 minutes...what happened??

Vonner 10-14-04 08:01 PM

HELLOOOOO, Julie!! :eyebrow:

TwineTime 10-14-04 08:17 PM

So I was wrong about the male to female ratio, but it was a swap.

Bubba was dumb. That strategy only works if you're 100% sure Chris is playing the game solely for your alliance. By now, Chris has made it obvious that he's playing the game for himself, so best to keep your mouth shut.

Ami is tough. I like her no-nonsense attitude, but I wonder how it plays with the other women (besides Lisa).

BlackCapTen 10-14-04 08:43 PM

Not sure if it was smart to get rid of bubba at that point. I'm guessing the rest of the challenges are going to be tough.

Pressplay 10-14-04 08:58 PM

But trust is a really important issue and it was clear that Bubba was still playing with his old team partners.

lucasorion 10-14-04 09:01 PM

Damn Julie is so fine. I liked Colleen, and all the other cuties and beauties, but I think Julie is at the top of my list.

TruGator 10-14-04 09:05 PM

Bubba ran so slow during that challenge! I was laughing my ass off.

SunMonkey 10-14-04 10:01 PM

How dumb. The net effect of the swapping was two members from each tribe getting thrown to the wolves.

:yack: twists
