I have data to support this. Certain specialties make a good amount, but many doctors make very little (IMO) considered the amount of schooling they have done, and the responsibilities they have.

Redneck guy was hiding peanuts, then decides to give them to the pregnant girl.
I don't think the redneck guy gave the pregnant girl peanuts, it looked like he'd gathered up some wallets and gave them to her (when she was going through personal effects on the beach) because he either felt bad or realized they weren't going to help him.

OK, just to play along, it could be that they were already dead, but the "death" on the island moved them along to the next level? Like, from purgatory to heaven or some such thing?

I know, I know, the producers said everyone on the island is alive.

You seem to have a death wish.

Just about to reply the exact same way. No kidding, Im getting a little tired of the "rich doctor" myth. Seriously, if I wanted to make money I surely would have gone into law or finance.

I am good friends with a couple of doctors. They do make a lot of money, moreso than pretty much anyone else I know, but they have more debts (especially student loans) than anyone else I know, so it kind of balances out.

God, this show kicks so much ass. Terry O'Quinn's character, Locke, is great.

Watched last weeks episode again tonight. I can't say enough how much I'm enjoying this show. And I'll echo the many people here praising Terry O'Quinn. I've always enjoyed his acting, and I think this is the best thing he's done.

Anyone else reminded of the video game Half-Life when they saw the guy with the suit walking around. For anyone not familiar with Half-Life (if your not, you should be asap) as you go through the game, occasionally in the background you'll see a creepy guy in a suit. He appears here and there. It's a very creepy technique for the show. Anxious to see what the deal is with him.

It was done by a girl from a livejournal community on Lost.

Its all relative to what you do and how much you are willing to work. Also, depends on what kind of practice you are in. So if you work in a group you will get to see more patients.

Take a look here, It will give you some kind of idea but I think that this is just just a bit to way high estimates for some things. For example, starting FP w/o OB in my area starts closer to the range of 80-120,000. Not that that is not a good deal of income, its just not as high as some people think physicians start out at.

Thanks for the updates on the missed ep. Clearly I missed a good one.

And as for that "pump" picture posted earlier--That's not mine, baby!

Just read (on joblo.com) that Evangeline Lilly (Kate) is on a short list to be cast as Lois Lane.

I'd get behind it too, but I don't like sloppy seconds.

Actually, I've only seen her act in 4 ep. of Lost but I will take her over anyone mentioned(officially) so far for Lois. I'm still on a one man campaign for Kristen Davis though.

I know, but Margot Kidder always looked about 10 years older than Clark in the Reeve movies. She just looked ragged.

The latest copy of TV Guide has Lost on the cover and an article with 10 "Secrets Revealed." Actually, there are only a couple interesting secrets, and apparently the rest of the world is making the same guesses as we are here. Spoilerized, here are a few:

The Comic Book
Spoiler:
It's the spanish version of Green Lanter/Flash: Faster Friends #1" Which is a story about the superheroes attacking an alien that turns out to be peaceful. They say they chose that story for a reason, and that ever prop on the show is 'absolutely intentional.'

Purgatory
Spoiler:
Abrams states he won't tell whether it's purgatory or not, but that creating theories like that are the same things he'd be doing if he was a viewer. Nothing here, lame

The Koreans
Spoiler:
We'll see that the wife Sun speaks English and was going to leave her husband the day the plane crashed.

Hobbitses & Heroine
Spoiler:
On the 11/3 episode Hobbit runs out of the Horse and attempts to kick it with the help of Locke. This will also be the episode we see his back story.

Hurley
Spoiler:
We won't see him get thinner since the episodes only last 1 to 2 days tops, and we see them in 'real time' meaning no time passes between episodes that we don't see. The season lasts only a little over a month. (someone had posted above the biblical 40 days.)

Most of everything else was lame 'secrets' about the cast. {yawn} But there's some nice info too.

Yeah, I read the TV Guide article, too.

Is it just me, or does it seem like they're kind of down-playing the "science" and "pseudo-science" angle?

Right now, I'm thinking that absolutely nothing is off the table as far as this series is concerned.
