That being said, for a final episode, there's no reason to stretch it out to an hour. While I don't think they should do a full hour, I think it's worthy of a half hour episode. I think they'll probably do a quick announcement just before Father of the Pride, with maybe a 5 or 10 minute "celebration." Sucks. Damn NBC.

Hate to say I told you so, but it looks like I was right..
I don't even understand what's going on with this show anymore.. Since Season 1 didn't win ANY money, what happens if Dave win? Does he just get the title but no money? (Or does he get $50K for winning the final round?)
Very strange turn of events indeed.

how would they do a finale episode anyway for Last Comic Standing? Everyone did their last set. The only thing to do is say "____ has won" and then have the balloons rain down. Don't think it is worthy of an hour or half-hour show

I'm pretty sure the plan was to give out a total of $500,000. $250,000 was available for the teams to win and another $250,000 to the last comic standing. Maybe someone else can verify this.

I was curious about that as well. Do they split the $50k among the 8. And then after the next $50k was awarded, do they split it just among the remaining 6? And so on?
Or do they take the lump sum and divide it among the 10? Hopefully not, because that would mean that horrible wretch Jessica Kerson would actually win something.

I guess I'll be coming here to see who won.
At least I won't have to sit through any more Jay Mohr attempts to be funny. I used to think he was funny years ago. What happened?

OK, count me in with the skeptics about the "late breaking news", but Jay Mohr's website confirms it, same text as was posted above:

I say screw it and screw NBC and all their programming. I am done with LAX and....well, I guess LAX is the only thing I watch on there, but still... I've never heard of anything so stupid as cancelling a show with only ONE EPISODE LEFT. I am not wasting my time watching a FOTP marathon to see when they announce the winner from last week. It's not like they are proably going to let the comics do a final set.
And a last episode could be really great. The final episode for season two with the guest comics (especially the grandma) were some of the highlights of the entire season.
I know this show was the baby of Comedy Central. Any chance they might pick it up for an eventual fourth season, with plenty of time given between seasons.
And what happened to the deal NBC was supposed to strike with Heffron for his sitcom? Will that ever transpire?

Well it looks like the finale is back on. It is being reported on several sites that NBC will be giving us a 30 minute finale next Tuesday night. It looks like everyone's e-mails and calls made a difference.
But I still hope that those executives responsible for the first boneheaded move, lose their jobs, caving in to the ratings hysteria for the one final episode.

I know at this point we're just beating a dead horse, but I want to know who in their right mind thought it was a better idea to air repeats of a show, which is also receiving low ratings, rather than a season finale?!?!

WTF!
I hope NBC really suffers because of this. They are failing miserably this year in the ratings and each decision they make just makes them look more and more like the idiots that they are.
