Ditto. I missed the last few minutes as well. That is this show, Entourage, and Six Feet Under that have been cut off for me in the last couple of days. What a pissoff!

WB seems to like to air extended versions of the pilots the first night they air. I am betting Thursday and next Sunday's Easy View will be exactly an hour (with commercials of course). WB only aired the extended pilots for Everwood and Smallville once as well.
The pilot wasn't extended, only the commercial breaks. Most of the breaks were 5 minutes or more. That is way excessive.

Good thing I have a 30-second skip button programmed on my TiVo. My TiVo also picked up on the planned 65 minute broadcast time.

Yes, the Thursday showing is 60 minutes so expect more "normal" commercial breaks - whatever normal is. lol

Spoiler:
So do we know how Jack dies, or in fact, that he does?

Spoiler:
We know that he dies some time before Bobby runs for Congress, but we don't know anything more about it.

I think it's a bit creepy that not only does the girl end up with the younger boy in the future, but that the boy is the brother of her high school sweetheart.

Why would that be creepy? The age difference between those two isn't that great, and once they hit adulthood, it's pretty much a non issue. And it would depend how serious she was with Jack for the other side of the creepiness factor.

Being HS sweethearts with one brother, then marrying his younger brother after the first died is kind of creepy IMO.

I was actually kind of hoping they didn't tell us which brother became president. I'm not sure how long they could've kept it up, but I liked being able to imagine both succeeding / failing.

I was kind of thinking the same think, but then if it was cancelled, we would have had to find out on the internet, ala John Doe. Although we know the ultimate destination now, the journey is going to be what is interesting.

While I didn't see it, it will be so far in the future that one will will become president that I don't get how it will show them becoming their future selves. They look like teens in the commercial, so even if the show goes 4-5 years, it will just get them into their twenties. There have been people that royally screwed up their teens (you wouldn't think they would do anything with their lives) who changed once they got into their twenties and you would never know that they had acted that way as kids.

Smallville is like this where you know the characters' futures. However, Superman and evil Lex are just a few years away so what is happening now will change who they will be.

A lot of high schools in California are linked up with the junior high so at some schools, they even have 7th graders running around too.

I was kind of concerned that there weren't more than one or two new shows that (I hoped) would really blow my socks off....but I loved the pilot! I thinks its the best pilot I've watched since Alias a few years back and my only fear is that the show can't keep up this level of quality (but then Berlanti and Schlamme have a little experience in that department).

But then I may be a little influenced that I have a younger and older brother, so I can see some of the situations....though I can guarantee no one in my family will ever grow up to be president, and I really don't want to die. I was going to let the second episode live on my Replay for a while, buit I'm going to fire that episode up tonight.

Absolutely loved it! I thought that Christine Lahti was fantastic as the mother. All of her scenes were great. Also both actors as Jack & Bobby did credible jobs, especially Jack. The narratives/interviews were a nice touch and I'll definitely be tuning in every week (or at least until I lose interest).

Now to find out that Jack dies early in life, that was a downer, but at least we know who will be the future president....thought that they'd play that out more, but doesn't matter, solid pilot.
